TER General Board

Doing it that way means that you can't simply copy and paste the number from the ad into a Google search bar.  It is a gimmick used by mostly low end providers who don't want you Googling their number and finding out that they are posting on CL or BP all the time.

You won't see this sort of thing on legit provider web sites or most escort mall ads.  It's pretty much relegated to CL and BP.

Get suspicious if they see a provider posting continually on lower end boards.  Quite often it is a pimp that is doing it.  Most legit girls who are not trying to hide anything won't scramble their phone numbers.

The ones who are, as you say, making it harder are usually trying to hide something.  They are actually making it easy for you to decide. Just pass on them and stick to ladies who act like they want your business and not like they are playing a shell game with you.

Why do some providers post their phone numbers like this...

9two1//67four_111one etc ???

I'm sure it has something to do with not being searched for, but I really don't get it. One thought is that if a gal is using her real/legitimate cell number for work, she doesn't want a friend or relative finding it through a legitimate standard formatted search. The problem is that obviously the number is written so it can be "decoded" because it's there for a reason, what stops someone from just searching it normally.

There's probably a few good answers out there, can't wait to hear 'em.

but I just love that saying and it sure does hit home at times. It can be a wake up call for anyone who needs a tune up.

CL would delete any ad that had a visible phone number in it and it had an electonic scan that did this job. Ladies would try to confuse the scan by posting lots of strange things and make sure they confused you at the same time. Looks like they carried this practice along with using roses and who knows what to quote an hourly rate. Just makes them look stupid and drives the men away.

Thanks to both of you, a follow up question then...

Isn't the whole point of a provider posting ads/multiple ads to get inbound phone calls? I'm not trying be be rediculous here, but it seems like they would be only making things more difficult for themselves and therefore counter-productive. If I were to Google a phone number (which I always do before acting on it), I'd feel better about dialing if I did find multiple ads on different advertising mediums... it would make the gal seem more legitimate to me.

Perhaps what I'm missing here, is that all this convoluted BS that goes into this type of ad simply should be a clear indicator of  B&S.

We're all adults on both sides of the fence... why are so many of the providers making this sooo much harder than it needs to be? Simply post a few pictures, bluring the face is fine for obvious reasons and include a phone number. I don't even see the need for the blah, blah, blah that goes into the text (I don't bother to go into how "special" I am when calling, just time and place).

Picture, $$$, phone number... PERIOD... really simple and effective... ya think???

if that's the kind of female and sort of "relationship" you're looking for, i don't see why you even need the internet at all.

I think he's talking about BP-type ads, not the ones from higher-end providers.  Re the BP ads I agree, especially the part where they say, "If it's not me, it's free."  I mean, who's kidding who with crap like that.  Just one more reason why I don't bother with BP girls unless they are from touring providers who also list TER review link, etc.

Some might not want you to google their number for whatever reason. Some might think by spell out part of the number the guy will not google their number.I have seen providers do this on different sites.Yes,the point of posting a number is to get calls but some are not interested in building a business and being known as a reputable provider some just want to make some quick money.

She needs to learn how to manage her money. After an appointment, go use that money to buy a cheap cell phone to ONLY be used for business. I'm not saying that all those girls are using their personal phones for business, but I'm guessing there's some out there that do.

I had wondered if they just weren't allowed to put an actual phone number on the site and that was why they wrote the numbers out. I never posted on CL, so I don't know their rules. Or maybe they just think that they're being cute and unique.

hello inicky...my comment was in response to his suggestion that providers post no more information that a name, phone number and picture, because in his view, that's all anyone cares about anyway. he doesn't see the need to provide any description of personality, or to engage in any conversation whatsoever. if that is indeed all he wants, and represents his view of women in this business, then he would be better off looking in the red light district, imo.

My point is that if you go and read the next 100 provider ads in/at any forum you choose, they all say basically the same thing, i.e. "engaging, captivating, able to hold a conversation, sexy but sweet, wise for their years, etc, etc). Taken at face value, do you believe every one of these women have every one of these qualities?

I've never read an ad stating they were a hood rat in sheeps clothing and gonna grab that Rolex if you wash your hands and leave it on the counter. Or one that sets appointments on the 65 minute mark because they stack appointments 12 deep a day and need 5 minutes in between for crowd control.

Conversly, if you were to ask the next 100 clients via telephone before meeting them face to face what they were like, you'd get "wealthy, seasoned, professional at their career, great in bed, blah, blah blah"... quite a bit of BS too.

Hope you feel I'm taking the middle of the road here.

My point is clients and providers want very similar things, just from opposite perspectives; it's an hour or two... not a relationship. If I have the fee for your time, do you really care if its my last dollar or 1% of whats in my pocket... and again, conversly, do you think I really care if my 250 puts you at the million dallar mark in your portfolio or simply keeps the lights on for another month... I personally don't.

What I care about is a fun, no stress good time for both of us so what's the use of the stories?

I mean all of this very respectfully, please don't interpret it any other way.

Are bait n switch agencies or Indy providers doing bait and switch with multiple ads and multiple names.  Anytime I see an add with a number listed like that I automatically it's FAKE.

True.... a lot of the ads w/the phone numbers spelled out like that, are B&S girls.... it makes it harder for the "lazy" guys to "copy & paste" to find all their other ads, you know.. the other 7 names & fake pics they have used before this "new" ad, lol. But, on occasion, I have seen legitimate girls posting like this, and most of them use to post on CL, as was stated above(you couldn't put your number in your ad years ago, so you spelled it out)

Some of the gals write out their phone numbers like that to avoid being caught up by bots who "harvest" phone numbers from all manner of sites, including CL & BP. They don't want to be inundated by callers who want to sell THEM something. (And since telemarketers are now allowed to market to cell phone numbers, it's not uncommon for them to harvest phone numbers.)

I don't know about CL in the bigger cities, but the CL & BP here on the West Coast never - and I mean NEVER - deleted a lady's PAID ad for having a complete phone number.

Honestly, I never gave it much thought, but I thought the reason gals wrote out their phone numbers was to defeat Web crawlers that harvest phone numbers, for the reasons Ms Jolene gave.

In other contexts, I've seen folks disguise their e-mail addresses ("[email protected]") for similar reasons.

I always thought it was to make it hard for a guy to copy and paste to look up reviews or something. Or are decoding it they just want to call instead of looking anything up *shrugs*

I usto wonder  why they did that myself....  Now, I don't think about it. Everyone is different in the way they advertise, or do business.
Good luck.
