So in January, I had a total hip replacement surgery on my right hip, and will be getting one done on left hip in February.

So my question to the whole community was if there was any actual risk of dislocating the hip or loosening it if one is to have sex in a cowgirl position. I like the feeling of a girl riding me like a rodeo.  I am about 5-6 months away from getting back into the hobby, so its not like I am trying to do anything stupid right away.

I am usually a pretty outspoken guy, but for some reason I am feeling that this question is rather silly question for a Doctor.

Any insight?

If you can't ask your doctor about sex, then you need to find a new doctor. I wouldn't ask for specific medical advice from anonymous TER posters, duh.

Whether a hernia repair or knee replacement (1st hand there), it is not a silly question.  It's a legitimate medical concern and your surgeon has been asked it dozens of times before.   "Ask your doctor if you are healthy enough for sex".   There's a reason that boner pillz all say that in their commercials.

On a side note, you better do all your rehab/physical therapy AND MORE before you saddle up, Cowboy.

hough many of us might have a background in Health Care, we don't know YOUR medical history, so giving you advice may prove futile. Here's some anyway... go see an FBSM provider and have her finish you with a BBBJCIM, no sex just yet.

I can't imagine sex WITH a condom is going to feel better than an uncovered bj to completion.

I'm amazed that people write these kinds of questions here.
Maybe it's some kind of catharsis, since they can't tell anyone else.
Certainly, they shouldn't seeking real advice here.
Fortunately, i think this community is generally wise enough to defer these things to experts.
After taking its pound of flesh. Lol.

If I were a doctor, sadly, I'd expect 50% of my patients to lie about something.
Half of those related to something treatment related.
And in a fraction of those cases, it could matter to their health.

Don't be the last statistic.
Think of it this way, just like you'll be asking your doctor for that Viagra in the last five minutes of your appointment,
trust that he/she has heard it all.
Btw, this is a question though specifically for the orthopedic surgeon who put the hip in.
You might have to endure a few sly smirks-most of those guys are jocks by background.
And doctors are so human and fallible too.

I think it's actually a very logical question. Just ask him or her; you'll be fine and get the answer you need; much more valuable than what you'd get here.

Without a condom, maybe so, but that's not happening. Sooo, you are in fact a minority opinion on that one. If we asked 100 men if they would prefer condom sex or uncovered blowjob to completion, most are going to opt for the latter, with BBFS being what they really want. It really makes no difference what she does with her body... there is still a plastic bag over your d*ck.

I can't see how CG coould be remotely a problem. Basically the only position you need to avoid is one in which you could dislocate your hip. I've seen ladies in that position bey men? I can't figure one out where that could happen.

If it was an MIS hip with a small ceramic head then you should worry.  If it is a large metal on metal articulation then you are likely on especially if it was an open procedure.  If it was glued I would worry less.  If it was cementless then I would worry more.

Short answer is ask your doctor.  A subtle way to do so is to say your dog or your grandkids or your neighbors kids jump up and down on your belly when you are lying in the couch.

For your responses. Like I said, typically I am not a shy guy. I will just have to phrase it like a serious question.

I will raise the concern with the Doctor this summer when I am fully recovered from both the surgeries and ready to play.

I wasn't really trying to get personalized advice here, but trying to see if the answer to the question is a common knowledge. I guess NOT.
