I love foreign accents from a gal:

Russian, British and French are fantastic, but my all time favorite is an Irish lilt.  (Can there be anything finer than hearing the word "lovely" pronounced "loovly"?)

Southern accents are also a big turn on.

On the other hand, I actually get turned off by some of the local accents up in my native Northeast.

I wonder if those accents would turn on someone from say, France just as their accents turn us on.  Similarly I wonder if they are turned off by the local accents of their land.  For example, would a Brit be turned off by the Cockney accent that gets me hard?

The exotic always seems to win out over the familiar, so it would seem.

I wouldn't mind hearing from the providers on this one too.

loud mouth Bronx accents don't do much for me either, but those are the only ones I can think of. even Jersey shore accents have their charm, as do those "wicked" Boston accents. lol

I love French accents.  Everything about French women is a turn-on for me, and it's probably a result of my huge crush on Mme XXX my French teacher in prep school.

Second, I'm Southern raised, so I love Southern Belle accents.  It makes me feel a little closer to home since I'm a transplant in the Northeast.

Third, I love NYC gals accents (and NYC gals in general).  Although many Providers in the NYC marketplace are from somewhere else -- when I find a true New Yorker (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens) -- it's a major turn-on.

The inner city accent is a real turn off but the rest are hot especially a Russian accent. Those Russian babes can get me hard with just there voice.

...most of the domestic northeast accents render a lovely woman's voice a bit too harsh for my ears and makes it difficult for me to get interested. A lovely British accent (except Cockney) does wonders for me, as will the Southern Belle (except when it's too deep into the hills). Having grown up in SoCal, the Valley Girl is a complete turn-off but a "fer sure" from a Huntington Beach surfer chick gets me going --

Ah, the complexity of human interaction -- go figure!

ON:
British - but not hard Cockney
Scottish
Aussie
Irish
Southern US
Italian
Russian
All the Scandinavians
Canadian (yes that IS a separate accent)

OFF:
French - usually has more to do with the attitude than the accent really
Oriental - all of them, IF they speak broken english.
All the NE US 'inner-city' (Brooklyn, 'Philly' etc)
Redneck/Hillbilly Southern
California 'Valley Girl' - again its the 'tude that goes with it

Neutral - can go either way depending:
German
India/Pakistani
Hispanics

Just my .02

as technically we all have "accents," most would have to find a particular accent pleasant or unpleasant in order to notice it at all. i find many accents pleasant...from the laidback yet crystal clear accents of samoa and neighboring isles, to the beautiful accents of french-speaking africa, to the musical lilt of louisiana creole to a tough scottish brogue to aboroginal and middle-eastern and many things in-between. it would be extremely hard to come up with a favorite, but i am especially partial to those accents which sound uber-masculine to my ear, such as eastern european and west african accents.

accents i find unpleasant...like others have posted, many of the northeastern accents...Boston and NYC especially. there is just a twangy clipped harshness that is difficult for my southern-born ear to tolerate. Baltimore city accents get to me too. when i visited St. Louis i was taken aback by the odd accent of the locals...just not something i could live with, lol. then there are those accents which sound a bit too feminine and somehow childlike for my tastes, like the scandinavian accents and those of east africa. just not my cup of tea.

I admit, some are hard to understand at times, like Far Eastern ones, but they'll get their point across one way or the other. ;)

You got that right. I currently have a very big jones for Karen Gillan, the current companion to Matt Smith's Doctor in "Doctor Who." Woof! :-)

As far as accents in general go, I do find them to be rather erotic, so long as we can understand each other. If all I can get from her is mush-mouth, however, then that's a deal-breaker. (The cliche that comes to mind is the "me love you long time" scene from "Full Metal Jacket"...)

ON:

*  Aussie (i think Rachel Ward could get me off with her voice alone)
*  Brit (proper, like Elizabeth Hurley in Austin Powers)
*  French (as long as it's an accent while speaking english--i don't dig when they speak french)
*  Italian
*  NE cities and burbs (from Phila. to Boston)
*  Southern Belle
*  Brazilian Portuguese (probably because those chicks are so insanely hot)

OFF

*  Scottish (not pleasant to my ears)
*  Klingon (met hot one at con, but was turned off by voice--she wouldn't break character)
*  Ghetto (just plain offensive)
*  Cockney (amusing...for about 2 minutes)

go beyond normal and overplay her "Southern charm" or whatever.  Not sure I would consider a "normal" accent a turn-on unless there was a sexual connotation to what she was saying.

An upper English accent to me is the opposite of sex.  Too proper.  German sounds a little too tough:  "You VILL put your penis in mine VAGINA ! NOW !  UND, you VILL LIKE IT!"
The rest are fine.

I agree totally, Keystone. I love language, and ANY accent is appealing to me, as long as it is authentic and not manufactured or overplayed. I must admit, however, a soft spot for a Slavic purr.

I think it is the idea that she is "different".  Different way of thinking about things including foreplay.  A different set of ideas as we talk afterwards.  I think the accent predisposes me to believe she will be more interesting, and as we know so much of the enjoyment is between the ears one way or another.

The only accents that turn me off are those that are difficult to understand and communicate.

B'Etor, IIRC, was the cuter one, so that's who she must've been going for...'cause this Klingon fangirl was HOT!

Of course she was just a fangirl at a con.  If we're talking about real Klingons, I'm not sure mrfisher that you'd even survive banging ONE of them, let alone a threesome!

Seven of Nine was super hot with her Borg accent.

I love to hear someone speak Italian and in turn I love that real macho bad boy NY Italian accent along with that dark hair and those rippling tan muscles......Oh MY!

Love a native American Indian as well......same tall, dark, and handsome features although the accents are now diminished, they have a certain machismo in their voice as well.

Years ago I arranged to see a touring lady visiting Boston from Michigan ( check my early reviews).  Exchanged emails at 1st then spoke briefly via phone the day before the meeting. I thought, "Wow, did I make a mistake?" Saw her anyway, and many times thereafter before she retired.

Bottom line, makes no difference at all.
