I think you should pay her fee for the weekend and if she wants to gamble then that is her call. You are paying for her time and if that means sitting at a table with you while you are gambling..then so be it. I am not saying sit and make her unhappy by boring her to death, but make sure she understands the opportunity for you to gamble is a definate reason to come to Sin City.
Some gents offer to give me money for gambling and I dont take it. I would rather lose my own money...LOL. To be in Vegas on an overnight can be very exciting. There is alot to do and see while you are here.
I think splitting the fee as $2k for time and $1,500 for gambling will cause problems. What if she loses it all? Are you obligated to make up that amount? It seems far fetched but it has happend in situations before.
Lay out the rules ahead of time. Most providers do not negotiate their fees...why should you have to negotiate over gambling money. Make sure her fees and expenses are paid as Felicia suggested. It is up to her how she spends it. You are not obligated to make sure she gambles or not. You are, however, obligated to make sure she is compensated for her time. And if she agrees on the amount, then it's a done del.

So say I want to take her to Vegas and her rate is 3 grand for the weekend and she knows we're going to gamble and it seems to be expected that I'll be giving her cash to do that as well... My question is - is this uncool - I say "Hey, babe, I'll give you two grand for your time and fifteen hundred to gamble with. When we gamble, that's what you use and whatever you win of course is yours and the potential is unlimited - but if you lose it, sa la vee. Don't come cryin' to pappa."

Depends on the lady. I personally never mix the business end of the hobby with any other funds. If I am feeling flush, and want to give a lady some "additional" cash for her to gamble with, that's my call. The donation we agreed to is a completely seperate matter, and strictly for the lady's time.
But I can tell you, some of the ladies be they from Vegas or out of town, won't take your cash to gamble with. Too many mixed signals if she happens to win, and win big for example. You may say you don't want any of that cash that she won, but I can tell you, you're going to feel entitled to at least some of it.
The last time I did a three day appointment in Vegas, it was with a lady from out of town. As much as I love the Vegas gals, and I do see them as a client for shorter appointments, I can do better cost wise, by flying a lady in for an extended time appointment. My lady of choice from outside Vegas, and my west coast fav, would not take money from me on our last Vegas trip to gamble, and I offered it to her two or three times.....
There's nothing wrong with having a lady gambling with you in LV as part of your fantasy. Just be sure that the specifics of your desired arrangement are worked out ahead of time. MfSD.
Just pay her what the rate is and if she wants to gamble, it's her choice and she can do it with her own money. If she wants 3 grand, pay it. I am guessing that you are also paying for all drinks, food and entertainment(shows).

Let's face it, not many providers travel or have the opportunity to and when an invitation is offered, not just to Vegas but anywhere, a cruise, Hawaii, Carribean, etc. it's such a pleasurable feeling to be invited.
I would definitely negotiate my travel rates because I like being treated like a girlfriend. Girlfriends have all the special priviledges and won't hesitate spending your money shopping (forget gambling). Let's face it, after you see me as a girlfriend, you definitely can't see me as an escort.
I've actually done this quite a bit in Vegas and I too fly the girl in but lately there's the fee, the gambling AND the shopping. It's a trifecta of outgoing cash. Something's gotta give somewhere.
Seems a bit much to me. I would imagine that the "expenses" would NOT include shopping and gambling. I do expect travel, lodgings, meals and fee. Extra shopping and gambling do seem a bit over the top if they are EXPECTED which I don't think in most cases they are.
It is important to be clear up front.

Anything else is because you feel like it, I think she should be by your side while you gamble making you feel like a high roller. If you what to give her money for gambling or shopping it's your call, but it should not be expected. On the other hand if you have a friendly relationship and you say “I’m going to Vegas, would you like to come” and she accompanies you at a reduced rate, then you should treat her more like a “girlfriend”
I am currently living in Las Vegas and I personally think your offer is fair. I would want to know a few things... are you looking for a gambling buddy or are you just saying you would give her funds so she could if she wanted to?
Being from Vegas, I have no issue with a total of $3500 for the weekend. I think that is very fair and would love to share the weekend with you. If you are intereted in brining your girl you are speaking of, then I hope you know the personality of the person well enough to know whether she would go for it or not.
Vegas is a great town to visit and like the others have said, there is a plethera of things to do... I would personally gamble a little and relax and watch you play.... It is up to the two of you to decide what is going to make your weekend together the most fun! I think you are sweet for considering your options. If she is going to be a true girlfriend then I hope she is considerate of your funds and not take advantage of you.
