My wife is preganat and so I have sworn off hobbying, at least until the little one gets here. Maybe forever. I know it is wrong to hobby regardless but can't get over the guilt of hobbying while she's pregnant. In some ways it is harder for me to stop now as our sex life has dwindled drastically (due to some perhaps irrational fears about harming the baby) since she became pregnant.
Anyone else have a similar experience when there SO was pregnant?
As a female, I just wanted to comment on "perhaps irrational fears about harming the baby". When I was expecting, I never felt more beautiful, more desirable, and I developed this insatiable sexual appetite. The best sex of my life happened when I was pregnant. So in that regard, here's hoping that your wife may experience something similar...and if it happens...that you take full advantage of it & enjoy your lovely to the hilt.
loved sex while pregnant... It seemed to "free" her... she knew that she was capable of getting pregnant... and yet could not get "more" pregnant! And her enjoyment seemed genuine.
Personally my sex drive increased drastically when I was pregnant. I had some of the best sex ever also during the time. And as far as harming the baby, you can't!!! The OBGYN should've told you that is you asked. Mine did and I even worked throughout my pregnancy, actually up until the day before I delivered. In the book, What to Expect when Expecting, it'll tell you sex can even encourage labor. (And if she's past her due date swallowing ummm well you know, can also induce labor!!) Just some food for thought.
From personal experience, I definitely agree with the fact that sex can help induce labor, and that sex during pregnacy can be amazing. You may even find her more receptive to oral and/or anal. Just help her out by generally staying away from mish as it can place an incredible amount of pressure on the uterus and blood vessels throughout so it may get extremely uncomfortable for her.Make sure to give her lots of o's as it can help to alleviate all the stress/worry/frustration she is likely going through in the rest of her day. As a side note, it is not a bad idea to stay away from playing during this time; STDs can be extremely dangerous during pregnancy and labor. They would check her throughout anyway, but it is still best for both her and your unborn.
Sooo I went out and rented an x-rated video of a pregnant pornstar having sex.... best thing I could do... and who says porn has no legitimate use!??? anyhoo, she got into it - and we had sex up to the week before delivery.... no biggie... with rug rat#2 there was not even a discussion of the issue.
Seriously, you need to address this... and if the porn movie won't work in your case... you should maybe have a candid talk with her in the presence of her OBGYN doc. Good luck with this. Sex with a pregnant lady is really hot! and when she lactates! after birth! sheese... those were the days! lol!
First of all, while I am usually not a moralist on sexual matters, I do happen to believe that it is selfish and hurtful to act out sexually while your wife or SO is pregnant, and commend you on your commitment to do otherwise.
Second, the feedback you are getting that sex with your wife or SO while she is pregnant can be VERY hot is on the money. I was married for 18 years to a woman who was mostly inorgasmic and she came like a rocket when she was pregnant.
BTW, as for fears that sex would harm the baby, for goodness' sake, go see a doctor or do some research on the net to figure out which positions are completely safe. My wife used to jump on top where she could control any pressure on her abdomen -- that seemed to work fine!
I find pregnancy did wonders for my wife's sex drive as well.
Also, I believe that expectant mothers are only routinely tested for STDs at the first prenatal visit. So, if you are unlucky enough to pick something up, the consequences are likely to be far more dire...
