with agencies or pimps I have a hard time relating to the views in this article or in most of the media's attempts at shedding a light on prostitution. There is no real mention of independent providers. I think I am quite happy about that. To me, the less the public knows about my actual status, the happier I am. If you look into my life and all you know about prostitution is what you learned from the media, then there is no way you would even suspect that someone like me makes a living as a provider. Ms. Regular Looking, Soccer Mom, Suburban Dwelling, Massage Girl... a prostitute???? No way!!

sock... and smell even worse. there is no "investigative reporting" in investigative reporting. I agree - if all you know is gleened from the press you think that universities are bastions of truth... and seekers of knowledge and purveyors of fair and unbiased treatment... that is UNLESS you are the Duke Lacross Team.
fair? honest...? fully presenting unbiased fact?! Bwahahahahaha!!! I say let 'em keep printing what they print... keeps 'em away from us!
I too was happy not to hear any mention of indys. What if the neighbors found out? LOL
It would be like, I thought she was a ______?
She seemed like such a nice lady. I could just hear it now.
Just the other day one neighbor lady outed another neighbor lady, she said, did you know ___ is a stripper?
I was like, no your kidding. I thought she was a ______.
Unless of course I was paid a million to have a tasteful, smile, photo shoot in hustler.
Then I would just move and they could say, that is where that hooker call girl in hustler used to live. She now has a million dollars to invest in anything she wants and can afford not to care about what anyone else thinks.
Oh well, since hustler is not calling and the bills are. I guess it is off to work for me as a _______.
Average joe - works about (give or take) 1900 hours per year.... give or take - and what does the average slob earn? $100K??? 50K? what!? and I am talking Gross - before taxes, health care etc.
a working lady - can work as few as 50% of that- and charge $300 per hour and make $250,000 in a year - gross... she can claim (& pay taxes on) $100000 and still do well. Of course I am not including the cost of doing business - if incall.... I calculate that she will (in a run of the mill city) have the expense of about $24000-$30000 depending on choice of hotel and deals... cost of advertising - photo shoots... and finally legal retainer and health care... in short - working only 50% of the time... she makes decent money... which brings me to my point about the woman who wrote the article...
She makes much more (probably) that the average escort makes... but has no grip on what MOST people make.... which gives her a distorted perspective on "rich" - yea... the escort is not as well off as this gal BUT she has more time to herself she has a more interesting job...
and she can get paid vacations.
you report...???? I decide... I think we should get better reporters... (not you mr. F... but this ugly reporter... man . she is one i would not see)
Clueless morons would extrapolate my hourly rate to annual income without considering 1) they took up 3 hours of my time for evey hour I billed them (think of the ladies getting the room, traveling to and from, answering calls from guys who have no intent to book them, or call themon end thinking they are their girlfriend, etc), 2) No paid vacation, holidays or down time -- if they pay for you to travel its not a vacation, 3) No health, life, dental and disability insurance that people working for companies take for granted and 4) No job security.
works to look large it does not take into account overhead and the cost of doing business... and I am sure that you too had liability insurance... as did I.
