I feel that I have some insight into this phenomenon, after much observation...an older and very wise escort friend once told me that the girls who make the most money in this business, long-term, are those who are extremely friendly/personable, and slightly unattractive. Why the "slightly unattractive"? Well, another escort Natalia (author of "The Price" and a former $2000/hr escort in NYC) commented something to the effect that men are intimidated by perfection...they prefer to be admired. In another part of the book, she asserts that, by conventional opinion and her own, she was far from the 9's and 10's she rated in appearance...yet, her agency owner set her up on first dates with men who he knew would rate higher than most (possibly bc they were loyal to the agency?)...and the the reviewers who followed didn't want to admit that they had gotten anything less. And by that, if the reviewers on TER would rate a gal as how would she really appear in the "real" world..and be truthful with those scores...I would think that in many cases those appearance scores would go DOWN by a point..or two or perhaps even three (or more?).
The ladies in this biz are a cross section of the general population..and as such represent that "bell-shaped curve" of women. To generalize on TER that so many gals are "model material" is, in many cases a stretch at best. Many of the guys have learned (some the hard way) to understand this scoring method and realize that the gal who is an average 8...is probably a lady that would not necessarily turn any heads at the grocery store (even if she is made up as she is in a session).

There is NO question, that at least for me, a ladies appearance is definitely tied to how she treats me as well (and that goes to the chemistry issue). And in the real world that is also commonly seen, as the mystique of a "beauty" is defined by each individual. I am always amazed when somebody will comment on how "beautiful" somebody is (and I don't know that person, but I don't see that outer beauty as they are seeing the entire package), but they see that person as a complete person. And assuming I get to know that person, I may also see them in a much different light.
But here, well if I only review a lady after only knowing her for an hour or two, that "inner beauty" is a tad more difficult to achieve. Although, many ladies have an incredible ability to shine almost immediately.
