I hate to bring race into this discussion, but I've got a question and being new to the hobby I was wondering if providers and hobbyists could answer it.  

Do ethnic (black, asian, hispanic, whatever) hobbyists have a hard time getting appointments with a provider who is of a different race?  Also, are providers leery of someone who isn't of the same race?

This is a rather subjective question. The experience each hobbyist has with a provider varies on a number of things.  Generally speaking, most providers are open-minded about the race/ethnicity issue.

However, every so often you may come upon a provider that might be biased, or a bigot.  In which case you should mention this in your TER review.  

At times, the inability to communicate effectively fuels the fire.  This is especially among providers for whom English is not their first language.  Perhaps they feel more comfortable with someone who can speak/understand their native tongue.

I am Asian American and wondered this myself.  Since I was born in the US and on the phone sound like any other American and my last name doesn't sound Asian, there is no assumption as to what nationality I am.  I personally haven't experienced or felt any hesitation on the part of any SP to provide.

The bias has very little to do with that the client and provider are of different races.  More to do with the racial sterotypes in the provider's mind, which could be highly politically correct, down to bizzare.  A LA provider will be somewhat different from a NY provider and a [your choice] provider.

Just last week, I finally suceeded to hook up with an escort from Korea town, LA, after failing a few times over a one year period.  I can be a VIP in a Korean MP in an LA city but the mamasan wouldn't trust me with her girls in the next city.

Providers will somehow built up a picture of her ideal clients, who attracted to her most, and racial profiling will naturally be part of it, just like age and whatever else.

If you are a little bit different from her normal clients, race included, on the positive side, she may treat you like some sort of guest.  On the negative side, she may be less submissive than she normally is, and expect more tips, only because she thinks that you people have a healthy respect of women.

I think this question has been brought up before, and for the most part, providers seem to say (correct me if I am wrong) it is in the attitude, how you carry yourself and how you treat the girls.

Personally, I have had no problems. I am fairly new in this (1 year into it) and have seen about 25 different providers. Most are whites with a few latinas. Obviously, they are not going to tell me they don't see Asians since I am one. But since most of them have asked me to come back and I have seen quite a few more than once, I would think they don't mind seeing me. I like to think it is more of a fact that I am clean cut, I carry myself well, I show them respect, I thank them for their time, and I am an easy customer to please, and a loyal friend. To me, it is that more than race. Although I do think there are a few who probably would prefer seeing Whites only. And I did have a few providers telling me they try to avoid Black or Hispanic hobbyists due to some bad personal experiences.

Here is my question...Since Southern California is such a melting pot, I haven't really had any problem as I said in the previous paragraph. As I travel a little this summer, I wonder if other parts of country are quite as liberal? I wonder about places like Texas, MN, Atl, and Canadian cities? It would be great to get feed back from the ladies in those areas. I am much more hesitant to call when I am in a city where it is not as diverse. Also, I have read the reviews in other cities on TER. And it seems like for Carolinas, I see a lot of ads specifically stating serving White gentlemen only. I see so many for that area it makes me wonder...is it really that big of a deal in that part of country?

are people too. Some will be prejudiced, some won't. Some screen, some don't. The generalizations regarding prejudice that apply to society in large, also apply to this hobby. Providers and hobbyists aren't prejudiced....... people are (at least some people).

I would suspect a lot of it has to do with geography as well.  The Toronto/southern Ontario region is very multi-ethnic.  At least half my clients are non-Caucasian, a great many of them fairly recent immigrants, and I would think any provider who's going to be a bigot will be going hungry most of the time (and serve her right)!  Ditto for any Canadian city, I would think.
