I'm sure they're using main stream media to raise an awareness so more people will jump on the bandwagon. On the flip side, Dr. Phil just said "Psst! You can find sex on backpage!" lol. (And not everybody is aware of this little world.)

Had a similar story about infidelity and finding sex on the Internet.. I didn't hear any sites specifically named.. Just that it was going on..
And totally agree.. For the new bashers of our choices in life, we will also have more curious.

They already know they're a huge target and even Dr. Phil can't make them any bigger.  And they have made some changes in their posting rules as a result of all the criticism.  All Phil is doing is picking topics that will get eyeballs to watch his show and drive ratings so he makes more $$$$.
So basically, Dr. Phil is a bigger whore than anyone on TER, which ain't exactly news either.  He's just a higher-priced whore.

Oprah is his pimp. I occasionally agree with some of what the doc says... and don't forget, it's network TV.

I maintain that people only watch Dr. Phil, Jerry Springer et al because they want reassurance that there are people out there even more stupid than themselves. It's a shame that for the likes of Pimples and Fungy, that they still can't feel superior when watching these shows. Oh well, for someone to be at the top of the barrel there has to be someone at the bottom.

Sometimes the man says things which are completely logical. I dislike the fact, that I can agree with Dr. Phil.

I think people like Pimples watch shows like this in the "hopes" of finding people stupider than themselves. In many cases it's a futile effort.

I find it amusing that people with such high opinions of themselves that they can come on this board and lecture us about civility, blah blah blah, tacitly admit their lives are so empty along with their minds that they watch shows like Dr Phil on a regular basis. I am not bashing the OP, but Alyssa should just concede any high ground she is trying to claim after her admission that she watches this drivel.

Watching shows like this are like arguing with the likes of Pimples, it accomplishes nothing and makes you all the dumber for the experience.

I do wonder sometimes how she and her ilk manage to get past the fact that some of the biggest "assholes" on this board are also the same guys you will find on the Newbie board helping out the noobs, both men and women alike, without ever cracking wise, making them feel foolish, or otherwise discouraging their participation on the boards. Posters like you, me, CPA, Jack, et al. Collectively we have thousand of helpful posts on the Newbie board without getting a thing in return, but in her/their minds we all hate women and new members. Any ideas on how they reconcile that fact in their feeble little minds.

Any one who doesn't believe me is free to simply check out the newbie board and count the number of GD board Asshole being helpful and friendly to the noobs.
