Always had a habit of addressing those I like by a "pet name". Can't help myself. Heck, I've been known to "pet" a few of them too. Wheeeeeeeeeeee!
Not inclined to do so on initial contact though. It's inspired by a warm feeling I get from very special gentlemen, whether through communication or meeting in person.
Hopefully, they don't perceive an endearment as a "suck-up" business practice. If they do, I'm not on a mission to change their way of thinking.
Can't be anyone, but me. I can live with that.

Then there are ladies that I havent met yet, and right from jump street they always refer to me by my first name in all of our communication. Personally, I prefer it if they use my first name but it doesnt matter to me to the point where I would ever mention it to the lady. A little personal info: my grandmom called me sweetie! lol. So you can imagine, its not one of my favs for a woman I'm about to have sex with to have my grandmom pop in my head!!!
So, what I'm wondering, are the ladies aware of it and consciously do this? Is it a way to keep that "wall up" between you and the client, so to speak? Do guys ever ask you to stop refering to them in those terms? Do the ladies that currently use the clients first name change at one point i.e. you use to refer to their clients with those three words above? What made you change?
Guys do you have a preference at all?
Its always kind of fascinated me how many ladies use these terms and how many never use them when speaking/emailing/texting me. There is one lady I have known for 5 years, I have seen her approx 12-13 times, and she has never called me by my first name. Its always "sweetie."

....sexual appeal is directly correlated to my propensity to respond no matter how she chooses to address me.
Just being honest ![]()
In all seriousness...I like it when they use 'pet' names. It adds to the gf part of the gfe.

Cause I personally don't like it, and I find it a bit tacky. Addressing people by their first name is the way to go in my case. Maybe I may throw a hot word in Spanish during the session but that is a different story , wink wink ![]()
I see a lovely young lady that refers to me as "mi amor" which is just the right level of intimacy for me
Everyone I know has one particular name they use more than others, I use them with my patients all the time. I guess that since I hear them all the time it doesn't make me think of anyone in particular, it just makes me feel more comfortable and relaxed.
Offer me a glass of sweet iced tea, and some crawfish bisque and I'm spending the night.

Southern use of the language has always fasinated me. I learned a long time ago one had to carefully translate the true meaning of common phrases. For example, as I am sure you know as a southern gent ,MagicMedic, "Bless your heart" really means "fuck you".
I think we all rely on terms that give us a level of comfort and strives to put others at ease. Except of course the assholes amoung us. Bless their hearts.
"Bless her heart" could be replaced with "what an idiot" lol.
Example: Jessica Simpson upon meeting the secretary of the interior at the white house said "I love what you done in here". Bless her heart, at least she's pretty with big boobs.
MM

Spending the night my ass. I am not running a bed and breakfast, bitch! LOL.
Awfully presumptive aren't you. There could be another provider that has made crawfish bisque for me...it's possible lol
I use terms of endearment with everyone I know (personally). During a first time introduction, I always use a gentleman's first name. Depending on the session, I have clients who get off on being addressed by their last name.
My clients don't call me baby, darling, sweetheart, etc. A lot of them refer to me as Alexandria, Lexi, Alex or Ms. Lombardi. Call me whatever you want; just don't call me late for dinner.
I don't care what they call me , as long as they call .
If you don't have young and older women in retail shops calling you sweetie or honey on a regular basis , they must have heard about your scarlet escapades with Granny , or you are mean . ![]()
I rarely call my GF's by their name , unless we're having sex , I'm going through her assistant or switchboard , or her Dad answers the phone . It's always been a name similar to sweetie .
They do the same with me , except when they are angry or having an O , if I made my point ,
then they scream my name . ![]()

and it's "luv." And I only recently noticed that I use it as a general term. But what I say does depend on the moment. For example: "right there luv, don't stop"
And if I use a name it's usually when I am feeling more submissive, "fuck me hard John, use your slut."
But I use "sweetie" with women.
Don't ask me why on any of this. It's just what naturally seems to come out.
I have been walking around with a BIG smile on my face here recently.
I don't like them much no. At least not when I see the same ones being used with other people by the same person. When that happens it removes any intimacy such a term should normally carry and can actually have the reverse of the intended effect. If it is something unique to me though then I love it.
I get babe, sweetie, etc. rather than my name. It makes me feel like I'm anothe guy to get processed through the conveyor belt.

That's just insanity.
You and the guy who thinks that a provider sending him a thank-you email should get together.
I also use the words "hon" and "sweetie" frequently. I have done so for as long as I can remember, with just about anyone I meet. It is absolutely not meant diminutively in any way!
Of course I will be more formal in my writing and use one's name. That is just ... Proper, I suppose. (Though I have occasionally seen a "hon" pop up in texts or quick notes, especially if the person I am corresponding with is going through a difficult time, or I'm trying to make a point, but show sympathy etc.)
As Desi-Lu said, its just the way I am. (And I do not speak any differently to my special friends/clients than I do anyone else in my life...well...most of the time...hehehe)

When a guy is in my presence, I use his name or whatever name he has given me to use. I do call my SD babe, and sweetie but we are also best friends, so it's fitting. I certainly don't call him "daddy" lol.
I am terminal when it comes to terms of endearment, couldn't stop myself if I wanted to.
They use the same boring words all day long. No creativity.
I have thought about asking this very question here many times but never got around to it.
Thanks to BPM for asking the question.
I personally hate being called, in order, Babe, Hun, or Sweetie.
I would much rather be called by my first name, it just seems classier to me.
my favorite is when we are having sex or i'm eating away is when they call out.....OH GOD, OH GOD....Jesus Christ that was incredible......................

Also being hung like a Gnat, I don't need the blue pill to get it up..................
I really don't care what she calls me as long as it's sincere. And I can tell the difference.
You consider "YO!" a perfectly legitimate form of address, yet bristle at "sweetie." (Guilty!
)
I feel that terms of endearment can be a regional thing, or a generational thing sometimes. Whenever I am in the South, I am always surprised at being called "Doll" or the like...same thing when I'm around old people, lol.
Sweetie, honey, and the like just don't flow off my NYer tongue. I feel ridiculous saying those words, as if I'm talking to Hulk Hogan like, "Hey there, sweet little honey muffin-poo." So I always just call a client by his first name.
I actually do like being called 'honey', 'doll', and 'sweetie'....they are terms of endearment...they sounds friendly and warm to me. Kind of flirtatious, too.
Will you get brain and life!
