Bill Clinton can build another economy based on smoke & mirrors and Grey Davis can mismanage all of the revenue from the new & inflated taxes collected.

Have been trying to find a really good site--that does not require downloading--that pertains to the economic forecast for 2003 and 2004.  Reading the paper alot, but just would like to gather some more information on what is happening...or not happening.
Any suggestions?

One of my favorite mags is The Economist.

Try Federal Reserve Bank of Philly. FBR.org or gov. All twelve have some sites with free data

try  http://www.economagic.com/
But let me tell you, as long as the  Bush family still controls our country, it is going to be bad. I wish Bill can come back.

I know you asked for a site, but there's a book that is fairly accurate.  It came out in the late '90s.  It's called The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy by William Strauss and Neil Howe.  Here's a review of the book:
"Strauss and Howe wrote this book in the 1990s about America's crisis points in history (among them - The Revolutionary War, Civil War, and the Great Depression/WWII). In doing so, they showed how each crisis comes at about a 70 year interval - approximately the length of a human life. The reason, they surmise, is that each 70 years includes a full set of human generations - four groups that each approach life differently.
In writing about the past crises, they also forecasted the next one, which they said would come after the start of the century, would be an extension of earlier problems but would still come as a surprise to us because of its scope, and would be something that "turned" our society around after a period of decline and made it stronger. If September 11, 2001 wasn't that crisis, I hate to see what's coming next. The good news? Strauss and Howe say the high school generation of today is a replica of the "greatest generation" that got us out of World War Two. If you really want to understand what's going to happen to this country in the next few years and how we'll react, this is the book."

I almost forgot, the authors also have a website.  See attached link.

If we are starting the downhill trend now (I assume that is what you meant), does that mean we will be going into a Depression as in the 30's?  And how long does this "down" cycle last?  I will definitely look that book up, too, when I get to the local bookstore.  Just sneak some of the bottom line out now, ok?

The book predicted times would be tough the early part of this century.  If you read the L.A. Times headline for Saturday, you'll see the prediction is true.  As for specifics, consult the book.  The book breaks it down better than I can explain it.  If you can't find it, try your local library.  I checked a copy out of my local library.
