as I have been a contributer to Heifer for many years and will so for many years to come.  Have a great Holiday and let's keep this spirit throughout the year, not just during the holidays!

This is a day to give thanks, and all of us here at TER have much to be thankful for... I have a beautiful family, the most fun possible "job" anyone could hope to have, my good health, and wonderful friends.  I don't want to seem like a downer - however, I feel that this day more than ever is an important day to be aware of those less fortunate than we are.

Every day, even on Thanksgiving, even on Christmas, thousands of people across the world die of starvation... even as we are feasting on turkey and stuffing, someone somewhere else is slipping into the great beyond, for no reason other than that their basic needs could not be fulfilled.

I know that times are tough right now and the economy is hard on all of us, myself included - but for as little as $10 to purchase a share or $20 to purchase a flock of chicks or ducks... isn't it worth it, to spend so little on something that is comparatively so huge?

For my part, I purchased a share of a Milk Menagerie.. if 9 of my friends here purchase a share, too, we could revitalize an entire village together. :) No, I don't work for Heifer.org in ANY capacity... I just want to do my part to help the people in the world who are hurting, the people whose pain can be eased with just a little bit of help.  I just want to give some people something to be thankful for - for I have even more than I need.

I'll end my hippie ranting now. :) Have a joyful Thanksgiving, friends.

It is sentiments like yours that make me give thanks.

You have mail.

Ok - I'm pretty cynical about the holidays.

but

I do have a certain ritual, that begins on the TG weekend.

I write holiday cards and letters to the families of men and a few women I have served with over the years, and who are no longer with us - to remind the families that there is someone out there who remembers their loved one and appreciates their service.

And I am thankful for them, each and every one.

- to absent friends, in memory still bright....

I have the great pleasure of knowing a beautiful young woman - a provider - who accepts no personal gifts for occasions, but instead asks those who want to make her feel special to donate to one of the several charities which she actively supports.

Some of the finest human beings it has ever been my pleasure to know have been providers.

I am thankful for you, Mylan.

Here's to a better, brighter world....

Gregory

Well you are doing a good job of that.

I actually find your hippie ranting cool, Lol.

Giving, especially this time of year is a wonderful thing to do.
