This was right after TER started allowing multiple aliases.  I had always posted as G2, but I thought I'd have a little fun with a new alias.  Before I knew it, I got pulled into a really heated discussion with a woman I'm good friends with and couldn't get out of it- she just wouldn't let it drop and it got pretty ugly.

She was still talking about it the next time I saw her, but I never dared tell her it was me.  It was a good lesson on what can happen on an internet discussion board and why we shouldn't get so worked up over stupid posts by stupid people- they might just be your friends!

This is kind of silly, but I thought I'd share this with you…

I can’t get mad at any of you people on here. This includes the guys and the ladies. Some of you guys can be a little “douchey” and some of you ladies can be “bitchy”. Unless you’ve personally caused great harm to me or my family, I can’t get mad at you or dislike you.

As far as I know, “Joe Dickhead” on TER could be the guy I had a few laughs with at a bar. But on TER we can’t stand each other because we only know each other as a “screen name” and “paragraph”.

Same applies to the ladies, “Princess Cun-Tastic” who I never want to meet or schedule a session with, could be the same lady I ask, “How’s the lunch meat here”? And while doing so, we have a lovely conversation. Not even knowing that we despise each other on TER.

Unless you have some real life dilemma with each other, try not to get so angry next time.

Guys…let’s enjoy these sexy ladies and have some fun playin’ with them

And ladies…keep them envelopes coming and make that money

Thanks for reminding us of something we should not be forgetting as often as we do.

How can good aliases be used in a kinder, gentler board?

You can't get mad at any of us on here. Which includes the ladies and the guys. Well just want to ask who is left if you take away the ladies and the guys?    LOL

this is as old as the internet. best taken not seriously, EXCEPT when someone insists on making it a real life problem.

most folks are much easier to get along with in real life than on the net. without face to face context, folks tend to "read in" and "project" misunderstandings onto the contextless paragraph.

and thanks for making it.  G2's, too, re aliases.  Unless you've also spoken to a poster and/or have some kind of real, human relationship with them, you have no idea who they are.  Re aliases, I use lots of them and have no doubt had flame wars with people whose handle I actually like.  Thanks for reminding us how stupid we can be.  Trouble is, we won't remember it very long!  lol!

So true, a good thing to remind ourselves. A little banter is fun, but getting waaaayyyy pissy is just silly. Especially when you consider how easy it is to misinterpret each other.

Plus, bad behavior on the forum makes me want to run away screaming.
