People will always have opinions. When people are willing to have honest, open minded discussion it is pure joy, but all to often people hold onto ideas way to tight. I think it was called "Finished People".

Peace in my experience is something one has to genuinely seek and work to find. Its an everlasting quest to find and keep. Some want it and some don't. That was the hardest thing to realize. Some find their own comfort in misery.

When I started that thread, and yes, referring to a specific situation. I was also asking a general question. Unfortunately, naming names in this particular case would do alot more harm than good. I think escaping from a pimp is a serious situation.

In your first post you mentioned lady pimps and in your second post you mentioned that they may be ladies we all know. By making those statement without naming any names you are leaving everyone to speculate who those ladies might be and may help to ruin the reputation of ladies who are not involved with this pimping. That was the thrust of Ali's statements. And she was talking about remarks that might be somewhat less damaging than accusing a lady or ladies of being abusive pimps.
It wasn't my intention to try to out the women. I wanted to try to ensure the impact of the problem at hand. I felt it was more despicable that these are local ladies, not just some "shmo". Regardless, it's all horrible.
It's thinking like this that made slaves 3/5ths of a person under the original constitution and denied women the vote until the early twentieth century. Thank God for TER. It is a marketplace of ideas as much as anything that exposes this kind of pretzel logic so that it can die a natural death.
Which is that an individual is quite capable of deciding what is in his own best interest and acting accordingly. Whether it's a dictator, a welfare state or a pimp, the basic contradiction is the same: 'I'm going to force you to be free!'.
