Google voice problemsad_smile

Just activated a google voice account, downloaded the app from android mkt.  but can't seem to be able to make calls via google voice. I have Verizon service and the new samsung galaxy S3 phone.  Anyone knows what is going on?

Verizon has the worst connection for being clear. At least it has been my experiences from both having accounts with verizon and trying to get a clear reception from those calling me from a verizon phone.
I can only imagine the connectivity problem going through a third party system. Good luck .

Haven't noticed this, but I should look into it.

I have no problems with Verizon service, it's been great....I have Verizon for almost 10 yrs.  I guess I don't know how to use google voice.  How do I use it to dial out? Don't see any buttons on phone that I can press to use google voice.  When I use the app, all t has are inbox, trash...etc.... Just like an email acct. no where close to. Using it as a phone.

When you first set up Google Voice, you have choices of how you want to do it. If you set it up with a separate number on your phone, one of the options is to choose which number to call from with every call. A box will pop up when you hit call, allowing you to pick which number to call from. Some of the options have to be set from your Google account, not from the app on the phone.

Uninstall and reinstall it .  You should be looking into your GV settings upon setup to set it so it has to ask which number you want to call out with.
I've never had any problem except when other GV users try to call me . It just hangs up . I believe it is more compatible with T-Mobile devices than others, that's my experience.
Hope that helps.

There is an icon on the bottom of the app that looks like a keypad.  It says "dialer," and I use that to make calls.

On the iPhone app, it also has an icon on the bottom called "settings."  I turned off the "do not disturb" and "click2call" options.

Again, not sure about the Droid version of the app, but that's the iPhone version.

You also might need to set it up on your Google Voice account on your computer to map it to whatever cell phone you want it to ring on.  Incoming calls on mine are routed to both my regular and hobby numbers.  However, I can only dial out via Google Voice on my regular phone (my iPhone).
