I wonder how the national weather scene is effecting the economics of the hobby?
There has to have been a lot of touring ladies stranded in hotel room with no way for clients to get to them. Especially in the larger east coast cities.
Yes going to NY next week, and a client I'm scheduled to meet with warned me that we may have some issues. I hadn't even been paying attention to the national forecast. It's blue skies and 70 degrees in Houston.
Doubt you'll have any problem from this particular storm, as long as it doesn't snow/storm the day of or a day or two before. It snowed quite a bit today but roads are already clearing up quickly here in DC area. Cities like NY are fairly accustomed to this and well planned / well coordinated. It's nothing like Atlanta, sad but true.
I usually just hunker in and hibernate. I have noticed the older I get the less willing I am to venture out in extreme cold. If a nasty system is passing through like we have had so often this winter, I am happy to stay in for days at a time.
Good thing for the Internet and big screen televisions.
up providers bookings. Even if it's not snowing... there are many more necessary home choses that go with cold. I don't believe there's any way to make up for weather days on the good ones. I met a gal a bit over a week ago... with a storm approaching & snow already started. I called from the call point & she wasn't ready... honestly figured that I'd not make it. We had confirmed the night before & I hadn't communicated during the errands, obviously I should have. We did have the session but it was somewhat rushed because she'd told family she would be available. Not her usual plan & I didn't review because I thought we both shared fault.
Have had to reschedule 2 times in the last few weeks. Here in Atlanta it has been a mess. Was suppose to meet my ATF yesterday-so much for that. She said her business was impacted and one of her touring friends got stranded her fore a couple extra days with little business
Yes I know we southerners are bad with snow and ice- but it will be mid-60s Saturday. Be careful Northeast
Because I don't plan anything when things are going to be this bad.. Its not like we woke up today and found out that there was a foot of snow on the ground. This was in the news for at least a 4-5 days.

...move up a date from today to last night. I had to bid a multi-hour date and pay full rate (I normally have a grandfathered discount) to displace some guy's tentative hour appointment at the full rate.
So, I presume the weather is causing clients to call audibles for their plays, which is then messing up the ladies' planning.
The lady and I also had an eye on the weather, from time to time. But we had dinner near her place in Midtown and I was home before midnight. She was glad because she made out yest with more than she would have otherwise
Speaking as someone from the upper Midwest you people are disheartening!
Just in the last few months I've went out to see one lady during a blizzard and another when it was 20 degrees below zero. Both times at least a half an hour drive for me.
