I found this posted on another board. I found it to be a very sad but interesting read.

It is shocking and sad, but what it is most is another case of man's inhumanity to man.  People go to these places merely because they 'can' semi-legally, and cheaply, rape children, who have no real knowledge of what it is they are doing to themselves or how they are damaging their futures.  I find such behavior inhuman.  I was a sailor stationed in the Philippines in the 70's and 80's and, like most of my shipmates, indulged in the abundant night (and sometimes day) life available.  However, it was always an unspoken, but tacitly agreed upon and believed, rule that we would not mess with girls under 18.  It was always something I asked of my dates, and something I took seriously.  Does this make me feel superior to those that gleefully splurged on the available underage escorts?  No it does not, but it does do two things.  It never fails to make my stomach burn a bit when I remember what was going on then, and it fills me with a sort of pride knowing that I stood my own personal moral ground.  However, I have no control on such people and the abuse occurs repeatedly and the stomach burn returns.  I even sometimes see jokes about it, even on this board.  Not trying to flame anybody, please believe that.  But gentlemen, please think about it, take it to heart, and do what you can to fight it.  Thanks for letting me vent.
