Go Google Yourself!

I was interested in my web presence so I Googled my name the other day, and was dismayed to find out how many of me there were! (I have a unique name)

On a whim, I Googled my TER user name, and got two hits...  My third review from 12/2001, and my 5th review from 8/2002.

Anyone have any explanation for this?  Why did only two reviews show up, why not all of them?  Go Google yourself, and report your results!

Well I googled my real name and got hits which I already knew about for some professional stuff.  However when I put in (orthodx) knowing there would be a lot (10 pages) I was still able to pull out 2 related to the website, one review and then apost on the other website when that little event with Amy and Dave happened.

I must admit I don;t know how exactly Google works wince it can be spotty in picking stuff up, fro example it can't find my real name and address even though it is listed but it will find some obscure article I wrote a number of years ago.

Thanks for the enttertainment.

I also got two of my reviews. Plus this note.

"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 2 already displayed. If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."

many search results returned from Google - "A Spectator" has 201,000 results; GirlCrazy has 502 results.  When I used my current TER id as search key, Google only showed the profile of a lady I reviewed, even though I have 50+ other reviews.

measure of cyber "brawn" and/or "wherewithal" [sic] ... in some ways, the cyber-analong/equivalent of the size of your 'package'  ("singleton and the twins" in my case)

just few days ago on the newbie board i was telling some guy that these days in lieu of old-school screening, providers can "verify" you by just looking up your professional "presence" on the web using Google --- it's the cyber-equivalent/analog of them calling your job for verification, which used to go something like this:

"Hello, This is Ms. Carmichael calling from First Providential. Can I speak with Mr. Singleton please ... ('One moment please, I will transfer you to his direct line') ....  [CLICK]"

---

no doubt i'll get pissed on for "bragging" ... but mine is in the thousands  (stopped counting years ago) ... less than ten of them are by my own hands ... which makes me relatively "well-endowed" i (should like to) think ... well [cough] upstairs if not downstairs ... no wait, the other way around

Interesting, huh. I found that i'm a horror and modern fiction writer that has recieved a few awards and spent time teaching at the Univ. of Oregon amoung others. I want to be just like me when i grow up, because i'm sure my other "me" is doing better financially then i am.

Kind of scary isn't it? Big Brother is really watching us! Interesting though - I have posted a number of reviews on this board and nothing came up. I have posted a number on the local hottietottie board and only one came up that I did on Tia last winter. Strange, but still scary.

68,800,000 results.  I have no idea if I was in any of them.

Although it was fun to see that there are a few noteworthy people with the same (real) name as me - same spelling.
