...guys drop their voice at least an octave and talk as loud as they can using as much profanity as possible? That's kind of what happens here. When I'm talking to someone face-to-face and he's inserting a variation on the word "fuck" into every phrase he utters, and rails against women in the most derogatory terms he can think of, I just assume that this is the way he always talks, or the way he talks when he's drunk and/or angry.
When thoughts are filtered through a KEYBOARD, I don't assume that this is just how a guy talks. Putting an overabundance of conjugations of "to fuck" on the board suggests that he's deliberately doing it for effect. So, on the board it strikes me as a little harder to overlook, but I guess the reason resembles the reason the guys in the workie bar feel they have to become parodies of machismo.
So, does it follow that all these guys are closeted homosexuals? No. But it means they have some kind of issue with what is expected of their behavior as male humans. Odd. But basically innocent.
There are some good minds on this board, and the nature of the discourse spits out some very interesting ideas that would be unlikely to surface on other forums.
There is a bit of wit here, and with all the craziness, no one complains about colorful language of any sort.
The only danger with this drive to prove oneself more macho the next guy is that at times it causes extreme confrontations. In the bar, it might result in a brawl, or a couple of guys taking it out to the alley. On the board, no one can punch anybody else in the nose, so it takes on a slightly different form of viciousness.
All in all, it's an interesting group to observe and interact with.

As for the other stuff... if guys feel a provider is full of shit on anything she says, a review board is the EXACT place to call that out. Would you prefer they go hit her weekly ads?
