Covering Electronic Tracks

I've read in numerous posts, about the sometimes extravagant steps that members take to cover their electronic tracks.
After buying disposable cell phones, setting up anonymous email accounts, surfing from coffee shops and Internet Cafes, do you then turn around and subscribe to V.I.P. access using a credit card??
Do you then use that account to post reviews, detailing what may be illegal activity, when all of this information is subject to subpoena?

I'm pretty sure I'm missing a step here; a little direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you really need Credit Card to subscribe to VIP, you could get Prepaid Credit Card from most liquor or grocery stores. You'll have choices of Visa, MC, and Amex.

I heard only MC prepaid creoit card works. It works just like a CC while others don't.

You can pay with a visa gift card you pay cash for. I have and you can put any name and it takes the payment. Also some use mailed money orders.

The actual charge on your card shows up as CCBill.com I think. It does not say what it was for.

I recommend the visa gift cards highly, I get mine at the check cashing place close by, and there is one on almost every corner these days.

Step 15 before you submit a review;
"We consider all reviews to be fictional stories that are posted by TER solely for entertainment purposes."

Personally, I stick with disposable emails addresses and avoiding using my real name.

I'm with you on that jontysheep. Great idea!

True, one of the ways that many adult online sites to defy the 2257 requirements is having their sites hosted in Netherland and have their companies to be offshore in Costa Rica or Panama....

Ive been told that there are over 5 different places on you computer that you need to delete your tracks from. True or False?

I just hit:  tools -internet options-delete browsing history-also delete files and settings stored by add on's. Will this do it????

If you have Windows XP or Windows 2000 then cookie folder is in this location

C Drive -
Documents and Setting
username
Cookies

Delete them from The tools menu as well..

OR
Dont worry about any of it, and GET FIREFOX-

Set the tools option correctly and when you shut down your browser each time.. everything is deleted automatically.

Try a web browsing program called Browzar.  It does not keep track of any Internet browsing (no caching, no cookie, no histry, it retains nothing).

From what I've read, it isn't a browser, just a skin for Internet Explorer. It doesn't do what it says it will. It hi-jacks your homepage and requires you to uses theirs. And pushes ads through their search engine. Just to name a few.

I wouldn't touch it. Google it and read all the negative stuff about it.

Actually, that's not perfect. While there are many ways to delete cookies and temporary internet files, the deleted data isn't actually lost until it is written over by new data.

Its very easy for someone with a basic file finder to find all your old cookies and temporary internet files.

OH Noooooooo!!!!! So what is th answer????

Its written over after the very first site you visit after cleaning :)

Nope, I'm afraid the bits are placed fairly randomly so they can stay there for months :/

I had the same concern for using my credit card here. Actually, more of a concern was a charge appearing on my credit card statement that a certain other person has access to. ccbill or not.
I bought a visa gift card (vanilla visa). I actually bought it to use on another site than here. It turns out it didn't work, and it says it too, that subscription based charges will be denied. I think what happens is when ccbill or whoever makes the charge it is flagged somehow as a subscription or recurring charge, as in my case it was a monthly subscription I signed up for. I didn't think to try it here yet, figured the same thing would happen.

In the end, I cancelled my ccbill subscription to this site, I'll no longer be VIP in a couple of days, after more than a year. :( Really because I'm going through a 'situation' where my finances may be watched very closely. I got paranoid. I'll miss reading the reviews. Maybe I'll be back to it later in the year. I can't really have fun either right now, anyway. I actually wonder what will happen, will TER just kill my account? Guess I'll find out.

Besides the credit card thing, yeah I have a prepaid phone, recharge with cash only.
I try at work to use free anonymous proxies to get here but sometimes I get fed up and go direct. So I run that risk there. Proxies often don't work well. At home, delete browser history, cookies, etc.

If you are concerned leaving tracks on your PC you may want to consider software that will clean up your tracks.

I'm using Window Washer from www.webroot.com   I like it.  I've got it set up to automatically clean things up whenever I shut down my PC.  It also overwrites the material it is deleting so a file recovery tool will have a difficult/impossible time recovering the data.

Agree with everyone about using Firefox, but if you're viewing on-line videos, that is not enough.  Firefox will not clean up after MS Media Player so if you look in yor temp folder you will likely find a few mpeg files tha you wouldn't want anyone else to find.
