...time differences and general logistical problem aside, where in the world would you go?
For me, it would sort of be like this but I'm sure I've forgotten much of the things I dream of doing.
Places I'd love to visit/things I'd like to do, but haven't yet:
Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Grizzly bear spotting in Canada
The Trans-Siberian Railway
Cross the Sahara
Things I have done and would love to do again:
Death Valley, CA (just about my favourite place in the world)
White-water rafting on the Zambezi river in Zimbabwe
Backwater boat trip in Kerala, India
Washing baby elephants in a river at an elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka
Shooting high powered guns with a very dear friend in Vegas
Esfahan, Iran, the most beautiful city and the most hospitable people I’ve ever had the privilege to encounter.
Angkor Wat, Cambodia, the most amazing ancient site I’ve ever seen, and a country I felt drawn to as soon as I stepped out of the airport.
Me I am likely to try any and every fantasy I ever had in my life.
But your suggestions were pretty nice too.
Hike the trails between the five villages of the Cinqueterra area of Liguria. Drink the local wine.
Visit the nuraghe ruins scattered all over Sardinia. Drink the local wine.
I've done some of that........
There is so much I would do I couldn't fit it all into months much less days.......
I would love freely and deeply.
Those are some very interesting things to do, however, I guess my idea is a little more simple, mundane...
One last round on The Old Course at St. Andrews.
Pure heaven, IMHO.
Also, maybe a followup vist with you on my way back home. ![]()

Interesting that you picked travel, Carrie.
I would go back to Southern Sudan, where the kinest people I've ever met live, and try to help them in their struggles.

Studied that lot alot in college. If you go, I will contribute for weapons. They need them.
I'd be less noble and way more self centred
If it's just me, I'd spend it either with family, or making like bunnies to go out with a smile on my face.
If it was everyone, I'd STILL make like bunnies, but I would go sit out on the balcony and watch the asteroid hit, or whatever else was taking us out......
I would go back to the Viper room In LA with this hot blond that rocked my world there, and recreat our night but just make it last longer.
I would max out all my charge cards, go to all the big cities, Chicago, New York and then Europe and live it up to an extreme. I would pretend I was a wealthy heiress, unrealistic but if I was in the position of having to live for a short time I would not care. I would leave a will giving whatever was left to animal shelters.
I'd have all the kids & Grandkids back home with the SO & me and have one last great steak bar-a-Q with plenty of good red wine and die, quickly, I hope, in the company of my loved ones.
...the Camas Valley, in the Callahan Mountains, west of Roseberg, on the main fork of the little Coquille River, like maybe Sugarloaf Mountain?
Or, go to Palm Springs with my wife and mother-in-law.
It may only be a couple of days, but it would seem like an eternity.
Better to spend the last days to come to terms with the fact that life is vain and aging, sickness, and death, inevitable. Everyone's time will come. So it matters not who goes first. "Be prepared to go hence, even while coming hither."
my bags are packed, and I'm ready to go every day. I wake up every day with the thought that I only have today, and I go to bed every night with Peace that the day is over and tomorrow may never come. And that is fine with me because of where I am.
I would do nothing different except to maybe find a home for my animals, and write love letters to friends and family members.
buy a bottle, regardless of price, of 1966 Margaux. Sip it while watching the sun set over the ocean.
Going on "pilgrimages" to see beautiful interesting women.
That way it would seem like years.
You must have just gone to White Castles...
the taste you crave becomes a belly bomber and then....Look out!...lol
Cheers!
I would throw one of the biggest most extravagant parties, and invite all my dearest and closest friends (of course I wouldn't tell them why) and eat, drink and dance, dance, dance.
I'll have my family in one hotel and I'll have some of my favorite providers flown to another...lol
I can see myself doing Space mountain three times in a row....
Cowgirl.....of course.
BOOIIINNNNGGGGGG!
Cheers!
I don't plan on checking out for a while.

Jump on the first plane to Iraq and take some vengeance on those bastards. "Die in a blaze" of glory for the country that has given me the times I have had up until now!!!
