Dress is smart casual.  Wear good shoes if you want to impress.

If you pay a hefty sum for the M&G then the hosts should provide the food and drink, otherwise make a point to bring a good contribution of food and/or drink yourself.

Talking about your previous sessions with anyone else is the biggest taboo, especially if that person is in the room, but you can mention that you know so-and-so, and leave it at that.

Nix on the religion and poltics, of course.

Good topics for discussion are recent TER board posts, movies, TV, music, sports (Some gals do like it especially of the hometown team is in a playoff situation.), recent books you've read, how awesome MP67 is, how you stay fit and healthy and good restaurants or other food topics.

Carry a small notebook and pen, for obvious reasons.

The idea of cash isn't a bad idea either but don't fool around on the premises itself.

The nervous feeling you get before attending your first M&G is the time period up to that point that you finally walk through that door.

Then it all quickly goes away.

The event itself is very comfortable as well as exciting. You will meet a lot of other hobbyists that may or may not want to give out their Ter handle mainly because of their Board participation. You might not want to take the chance of introducing yourself as Jack_Shit and take the chance of getting slugged.

You will also be able to pick out many of the providers and porn stars alike that until that moment only viewed photos of on their own personal websites.

The party that I attended began at 5pm and went on til dawn. I bowed out at 3am and made sure that I alternated Patron then a bottle of water all night long or I would never have survived.

Go slow, be yourself, stay somewhat cautious but have a great time.

Approach it as you would any party. How would you normally dress for a party, or work, dinner with the boss, a date etc? Same thing. How would you normally greet a new female acquaintance? Same thing. As far as taboos, the biggest thing I would suggest is to not discuss **biz** related stuff within earshot of wait/barstaff. Handle your alcohol. Treat everyone else with respect. Be tasteful in your conversations. Keep things light. Have a great time. And don't be afraid to ask questions!

I am both excited and a bit nervous about my first meet and greet. What's proper etiquette when you meet a woman? A handshake? a hug? a light kiss? What's appropriate attire for men? What are the taboos? Any advise, suggestions etc, from either men or women would be most welcome. Thanks.

taboos....? well i think it very gauche to even attempt to "get down to it" at an MnG. i do recall one lady who was.... over enthusiastic... and was summarily invited to depart.

At the Houston sting operation, LE infiltrated the ASPD net and obtained the information about the party.

will be dressed to impress.  Bring some cash so you can play afterwards.  Some guys prefer to line something up for afterwards ahead of time.  Usually the host will answer questions like "is big tits (not her real name) from uptown coming?"  

You will be surprised in that many ladies will not look like the pics on their web site.  Afterall, they are wearing clothes at the M & G and the pics on their web site may be in lingerie or less.  

Mix and mingle and introduce yourself to as many ladies as you can.  Here you will be able to tell if there is compatability or maybe you don't have anything in common with Ms. X.

Don't say anything about the biz within earshot of bartenders, waiters, etc.

I've only been to two.  

The first put me on the edge of leaving the hobby.  Geez!  It could not have been worse. Swore I would never go back.

But I did. Only because the guest list included someone I had my eye on, and thought this would be a great opportunity to break the ice and not be on the clock.  

Many of the ladies confirmed, again, why I never contacted them. Seeing them in person makes you wonder how old...and how photoshopped...their photos are.  

But....the one lady I had hoped to meet was there, and I was blown away.  Kind of like finding a needle in a haystack.  But...that needle is there. You just gotta look.

Recommend you look at this just as you would any first date. Don't forget...you ARE making a first impression on them. Don't wear a tux, but dress like you would on a first date.  DON"T wear a t-shirt from the 2010 Adult Erotic Convention. Yes...it's true, someone did.  But make a good impression. Low key, polite, respectful.  Be a gentleman.

Proper attire on your part is up to you.  Full business attire, business casual, true casual are all acceptable, depending on the impression you wish to make.  If this is being held in a public venue, treat it the same as any other cocktail party where you know no one.  Meet as many people as possible, both ladies and hobbyists.  It will quickly become apparent that many of the attendees already know each other from previous gatherings, but don't be intimidated.  Just mix and mingle as at any other party.   Also, be discreet about mentioning the hobby if there are bartenders, waiters or waitresses around.  If this is a private venue party, things may be looser, but do remember to be discreet if it is being catered.

As far as afterparties go, that can mean many things.   I would just go with the flow on that.  If you wish to leave with someone at the end of the night, better to arrange that beforehand, though you can always ask any lady you hit it off with.

Wasn't 'really' an M&G. It was a party basically on the fly I had the pleasure of hosting with two ladies, Allure` and TashaVegas. Though, they did all the work.

Anyway, I had a great time! Had a great dinner, met some cool ass people, and of course got shit-faced!

Things I'll never forget...

People coming up to me at the bar asking 'You're MP, huh?' I'd say yeah and they asked what I was doing. Told them I was drinkin' and playing pool with mrfisher. Their eyes grew big and said 'mrfisher? Really? Where?!' Said 'see that distinguished looking guy standing over there at the bar with Allure`? That's him.' They'd say 'excuse me for a minute.' I had to laugh!

Of course the private time I spent with said ladies, but broke my heart when I had to put my compadre in a cab cuz he had to catch a plane home the next day.

All in all, even though my luggage didn't make it till after the party(my fault, I'm such a terrible flyer!), I was told a good time was had by all, and that's what counts.

Broke bread with Puck, whom I can't wait to meet again, met EricaStone, among many other lovely ladies, and even had Allure` buttfuck me over a pool table.

Had to be there!

Thank you to all of you who responded.  I am feeling a bit more at ease and looking forward to my first M&G with just a bit less anxiety.  Looking forward of course to meeting fellow hobbyists as well as the porviders who are there.  Actually - quite excited!
