Guys, do you generally dress casual or more formal looking when heading to see a provider? I'm not so much referring to whether you dress expensive or cheap, as even a designer t-shirt and jeans can look very sharp.  This is more a question about personal style and preference.

Personally, whenever I book time with a lady I like to make an effort to look very formal and sharp, which usually means putting on one of my nicer suits, shirt and tie. I have this limited edition Paul Smith tie with a logo of a naked lady on the underside that is one of my favorites to wear to hobby.  Even if it's not a dinner date and just one hour in the room, I still dress up.

Ladies, are there certain styles you like to see in your men

Now if we are actually going out, then I might make a special effort, but not for an hour or two that is strictly BCD.

I hadn't until I read this post and realized I agree with you %100. Chilly in here...lol....

I make a special effort to be comfortable. Which is not actually a 'special effort' as much as just status quo

Probaly should get one though in case somebody dies or something. I usually go for youthful casual dress what a guy from my neck of the woods might wear on a real date. I'm 34 so no since trying to look older. Always nice blue jeans and a button down shirt. No polo shirts nothing says douchebag like a polo shirt, except maybe a sweater vest in my book unless you're playing golf.  Most of the time I ditch the hat, though I think I pull the hat look off well providing it matches the shirt. I've got a lot of compliments on my orange and blue western shirt when I accessorize it with my orange Stihl chainsaw hat. I usually go sans the hat though. And always brown cowboy boots, I'm in the south so the look lets me blend well. My favorite is probally a pink dress shirt untucked with jeans. The gals always say a real man can wear pink!!!

Things have sure changed toward the casual side over the years. Remember when we had to wear ties to work? Now jeans are acceptable.

I see Taylor's point but many of us don't even get dressed up for work. On those rare occasions that we do, we get the standard " Are you out interviewing today? " response, lol.

...that makes me a douchebag, huh.

Not you though - a guy who doesn't own a suit.  A guy who wears a western shirt, cowboy boots and a Stihl hat.  And probably a Case knife in a holster on his belt, right?  I dress like that too - as a lumberjack for Halloween!

You'd be just as much of a douchebag in Beverly Hills where I live as I would in Bumfuck, South Carolina where you live.  Next time, walk a mile in my Cole Haans before you open your yap.

A knife holster looks about as ridiculous as one of those redneck wallets on a chain. Usually they are paired together. No disrespect intended, but take you're Cole Haans jeans and stick them up you're ass. I'll stick to my Wranglers and Levi's. you're right though I would stand out in Beverly Hills but I wouldn't live in Cali if ya gave me the whole damn state. It's Fuckstick NC not BumFuck SC. Not much difference I guess though except for the BBQ isn't as good down there.

I was speaking primarily on my area and my experiances. Not talking meeting BP low ends either. Even I have enough sense to know that look wouldn't work in Beverly Hills or New York. Jeez don't be so testy find a nice gal and take care of buisness then you'll feel better.

Now I am going to have to burn all my Polo shirts, and yes I have a bunch of them.

Funny, I live in the South as well, but even though I am in the oil business, I rarely dress in "Western Wear" Truth be told, I dress in what I find comfortable, my days of "dressing to impress" ended a long, long time ago. In my business the only guys who wear a suit are the ones still trying to make it, and they are easy to spot, they are the ones "trying too hard" An oil man wearing a suit is a "wannabe" except for the execs at the big firms of course.

I still remember being at Trump Plaza for a New Year's eve party some twenty five years ago, like almost everybody else I was wearing a tux, one of the guys I was with, a very successful oilman worth several hundred million, was at the same table as me dressed in jeans, a polo shirt and a light wind breaker, Everyone from the Hotel President on down, came by to kiss his ass. that's when I figured out that "clothes don't make the man"

Not really western shirts more like dress casual. Not a make believe cowboy here.

Please don't tell me that you also ride the mechanical bull. lmao

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

No no mechanical bull for me and ain't no way I'm riding a real one either. Fuck that!! Never could figure out why folks who don't even own a horse want to go around looking like that. To folks not from my neck of the woods I guess they misunderstood me. Oh well!! Who cares what a bunch of swinging dicks think, I'm here for the gals and its worked well for me.

bought a suit once because I was asked to be a pall bearer... other than that, it's Levi's and western boots (and for the record the fucking western boots are $3K a pair)... I've kinda moved on from the western shirts and gone drip dry REI and Bass Pro Shop... polo shirts and sweater vests are for pansies...

Only thing I have to differ with you on is the ball cap... I hate hats, but if I wear one, it's a 20x beaver... gotta love them beavers :)

Like Gambler says, clothes don't make the man... you walk in like you own heaven and earth and have the mortgage on hell and you can wear your fucking bvds'

any woman that is impressed by threads ain't worth havin', it's what's in the wrapping that counts.

Yeah Bass Pro has some good stuff, I like Columbia too. Found a couple nice ones that suited me at Gap even though I hate the mall.  I've only got one shirt I would consider "western" the rest I would say are casual badass. Like ya said, it's not the threads and I've also found that its not always how good looking a fella is,  it's all in the attitude and how ya treat her.

My garb was Cole-Hahn penny loafers, Burberry slacks, Armani sport coat, Donna Karan shirt (old!).  I don't even know if she noticed.  First of all, share barely spoke English.  More important, she looked so spectacular I was too busy looking at her.  The looking part didn't last long.

You probably looked so nice and that's why your clothes came off so quickly!!

But you really don't know if she noticed.....hmmm

Well lawyers wear suits here but only in court. Anyone wearing a suit here will stick out like a sore thumb. The key is to dress to fit in, and look natural.

I also agree with Gambler. If I am going out with the lady (ie dinner date) I will dress up a little (for me that means decent pair of long pants, button shirt, and shoes). If it's a 1 hr BCD date, I feel no need to dress up when the clothes will be off in minutes and stay off.

Now if I am seeing a visiting lady who is somewhat high end, and I assume she doesn't understand the casualness of Hawaii yet, I probably won't show up in shorts and flip flops (we call them "slippahs"  here), but on repeat dates and with local ladies I know, that is very likely how I will show up. If it's an outcall to me, then that's definitely how I will be dressed. Never had a lady complain or refuse to see me for follow up visits. If they do have a problem with my clothes, too bad!

I also expect and many times request the lady to dress casually also, so I am not a hypocrit. I would rather see a lady in a sundress or jeans and a t shirt with no or very little makeup, And sandals flip flops or sneakers

blend in when going to see a lady at a hotel. If the hotel is on the beach, wearing a suit sticks out like a sore thumb.

I wouldn't do that either, but they'd probably think you were from management.

I simply adore the Cranes Pearl White Kid Finish 32lb 100% cotton paper. I find them to be the most stylish of envelopes. There’s just a certain élan about the diaphanous play of light on the luminescent paper that is the perfect palette for the counter point of color from the crisp green currency within.     Oh – and wear whatever makes you comfortable.

you didn't have any panties on under those skin-tight stretch jeans.  Probably because there wasn't any room for them.

A provider who knows where the real style lies in this biz :-)

you just moved to the top of my to-do list... you been knocking at it a long time and that put you over the top....

come west, young lady, come west....

...dress to blend in. I'm not wearing a suit to see a lady in an apartment in the middle of the day. I will dress a bit formally if it's a nice hotel in town.

I don't own a suit either but you don't need one to dress up. Can't remember the last time I wore a tie. I do have some so not a problem if I need one.

There is no one way to do this. Be neat & clean.

a well dressed man and a man who looks phenomenal with awesome muscular arms and body.

We all like a nice dressed looking person.

Men like women who dress sexy and are seductive
Women ADORE when a man makes the effort to dress well for their date/meeting.

*Even in everyday dating life, many men do not own a suit nor even a suit coat or nice shoes anymore.

The times have changed.

Women continue to dress and wear makeup, etc.....men have ceased to "turn up the heat"

I guess you can tell what I prefer.

and I do the same.  Besides, I always meet for an hour or for 90 minutes and I don't want to waste the 2 minutes taking off a jacket, tie and lace-em-up shoes.

First impressions are nice, but..

just pull that dick out and let's get down to it!

It makes it easier to walk past the Hotel front desk if I'm going to an incall, besides it's my personal style.

I find that, even at the best hotels, most guys are dressed casually. Not slobs, but casual.

I'd love to wear a suit, but I don't even know if mine fits anymore. Last funeral was three years ago. I've thought about buying another just for hobbying, but that's the price of two to three hours of provider time.

So, for me it's a dress shirt, casual pants and nice shoes or boots.

GaGambler1441 reads

I can walk by in a tuxedo, or in shorts and flip flops, even in the nicest of hotels. It's not the clothes that allow you to fit in, it's all you. I am in and out of hotels all over the world, everything from one star to five star hotels, and I can't imagine ever being asked to justify my business in being in any of them.

and then I have a business meeting afterwards. So I'll be in coat and tie. Varvatos shirt, tie and sportcoat and denim. and Tods slip ons. I gave up the Cole Haans years ago.  I often hobby on business trips and sometimes show up in a suit and tie. The suit thing usually goes over well, especially when I ask for help getting undressed,  many providers have never had a client show up in a suit in the middle of the day.

Don't.  Give.  A.  Shit.  Anymore.

I've put in a lot of hours and a lot of years to get to a point where I'm relatively young and yet don't have to punch a time clock or answer to anybody for anything.  I have no bosses to impress.  Futhermore, my internal thermostat is such that if I wear anything as heavy as a suit (even a sport jacket and tie), I'll be a huge blob of sweat within minutes.

I dress for my comfort--which means a lot of t-shirts and shorts.  When it gets really cold, maybe I'll wear a hoodie or baseball jacket--over my t-shirt and shorts (maybe khakis sometimes).

If I'm seeing a provider for the first time, and if we're going to see a show or out for dinner, I can maybe be persuaded to wear a shirt that buttons down the front.

I can't go much beyond that, in general.  I'm buying a service here, the money all spends the same.  Maybe if I was the one being paid I could see my way clear to dressing up.  As it is, my provider is just going to have to imagine her dream Armani male model while she's attempting to show me a good time..

Had a guy that came to my 4 star hotel in ratty sweats!  Ugh!

i had a lady that i met thru ter once tell me that suits are to women what lingerie is to men...

i always wear a suit and tie (unless i'm going to another, differently dressed appt. before or after our date).

worse case scenario, nice slacks, dress shirt and tie.  and brushing my teeth and using mouthwash right before knocking onthe lady's door.

Where do you spit? In her hallway?

It helps down play my other inadequacies.

Do you gals agree?

In any case, my outfit of choice is a dressy but casual shirt, slacks, jacket, and shoes made of something that had parents.

A nice button down that fits me perfectly. With jeans.

One time I went to dinner with a provider..
I dressed like I normally do..
She said. "What are you wearing?" Hehehe
I think I was wearing a long red leather coat that was made for a woman.
With a tee shirt that had a dogs skeleton listening to an old record player.
She didn't like my ripped jeans either. :(

I could wear a sundress, and still look good.
In fact. I dress like Dorothy from the wizard of Oz
And click my ruby slippers together.
Somehow, I still get laid.

I hadn't even thought about my suit in months. Maybe years. Now I read this thread, think about it, and had to go and get a new suit.

Armani. I hope inicky46 is impressed. :D

President Obama can afford to buy those brands (we're paying for it). I can't. ;)

I don't really own an Armani suit.  For dine duds, I prefer to shop at...

Buying toddler clothes there makes my hobby dollar go much further.  This little number only set me back $8.99.  Providers find it funny.
