That said, how about the admins putting up an Insults Board? Probably not that much effort any might actually be amusing to see where it goes.

Can we keep all the back and forth insults, that have been spreading through all the other topics faster than the coronavirus, in one thread?

I'm not blaming anyone, since it is too hard to untangle the feuds.

But I would also suggest my own personal rule -- limit back and forth (on any topic) to three times, then drop it regardless.  No one else is reading at that point, if they ever were.

It would be especially nice if disagreements in one thread stay in that thread, rather than chasing around to every other thread.

We can't even keep people from chasing other posters from different boards, much less different threads.

 

I will agree that this stalking of posters and hijacking EVERY attempt at actual conversation is becoming a bit annoying, but most of this is coming from just a couple of posters who most likely will get bored and move on like most board trolls have done over the years. "DON'T FEED THE TROLLS" would make a nice bumper sticker, but in reality it rarely works.  

 
Once upon a time the mods would step in when a thread started "Running off the right side of the page" but it appears that current management has taken more of a "hands off" approach to moderating the boards. Personally I am a fan of less censorship although I do confess a couple of these posters are stifling actual board conversation by hijacking EVERY thread, but I am sure this will pass soon.

First, you suffer from a complete lack of SELF-AWARENESS when you refer to the "board trolls" as if they were OTHER people.
Take a look in the MIRROR, bud.
As for STIFLING "board conversation," well, YEAH..., whenever an INITIAL post is met with DERISION, NIT PICKING, and just a general NASTY atmosphere, WHO would want to participate?
I've essentially given up hope of engaging in any CONSTRUCTIVE conversation on this board while the current pack of TROLLS is ever PRESENT.

Although new here, have clicked on HIS posts link.  One would not believe the number of times, going way, way, back (yes I sampled a few even waaaaaaaaaaay back) this "poster" bullied, insulted, harrangued, and trolled new posters.

 
In many cases, they were had legitimate opinions to share.  But, when someone comes along and gives him a taste of his own medicine, he gets emotional, and runs all the way to mommy.

 
Guessing the reason "mods" used to limit the "back and forth" is because when he could not take it anymore, he solicited their support.  The age old adage holds true here, "if you can't take it, then don't dish it out."

 
No need to waste your time, this is his modus operandi.

Like I said before, I've given UP on ever engaging in a SERIOUS conversation on this board while HE and his "minions" are running rampant on here.
Again, like I've said before, for me, it's just a "cat and mouse" game now, with "C.D.L." and his clique fulfilling the role of pathetic, little "mice" I "play" with whenever I get BORED, and just want to GOOF off.
It's SAD, really, cuz this community deserves a SERIOUS board where members can ask questions without fear of being BELITTLED, INSULTED, NIT-PICKED to death, etc.
Hopefully, when the "powers that be" settle down and are able to once again devote their NEEDED attention to the boards, they'll be able to instill a sense of CIVILITY and PURPOSE on this board that it is sorely LACKING at the moment.
In the meanwhile, I'm not holding my BREATH.  :(

The "powers that be" are already doing their job like before.  We just had a new record on TER when one of our troll posters here managed to have THREE of his train-wreck threads closed by Admin on the same day.  I think they are being VERY diligent.  Their experience in knowing WHO is the troll here is reassuring that more train-wrecks from this stooge will be closed in he future.  I can't wait!!!

The shame of it is, unlike myself, MOST people can't be BOTHERED to correct you and bring you back to REALITY, you, unfortunately, end up believing all the BULLSHIT you've been spewing.
I honestly could care .
If I'm posting LESS, it's CERTAINLY not due to any FEAR of retribution, or having LEARNED anything from you clowns.
It's just that you're starting to BORE me, and I have INFINITELY better things to do.
If anything else, at least get THAT straight in your head.
Who knows, maybe it might EVENTUALLY sink in when you ONLY have the other LOSERS on this board (CDL, Inick, GooGoo, etc.) to talk to. (*shudder*).  :(

Despite all the help other members are trying to give you, that you have learned nothing form the suggestions you have received here.  You don't even have to say it, we already see it from your continuing posts.  All of your posts have now devolved into personal attacks, your little finger can't seem to stay away from the CAPS LOCK key, and you claim for the umpteenth time that you have better things to do, and yet, here you are, continuing to serve this board faithfully as the "house" piñata.  You just can't help yourself from showing up on each whack you get.  Its like telling us, "can I have another whack, please?"  I try to be accommodating when I can.

Have checked your posts link and (tho you have been using this alias only two months) it is clear you have been on TER a long time and have at least ten reviews.  

How do I know this? Well if you ask me real politely I might tell you.

The only reason you are trying to make everyone think you are new here is that you are hiding from and or scared of someone or something.  

 
You also have to ask yourself and worry if I know your Real TER handle and have I told others including he/she/they who you are running and hiding from, and do I know what and who?
 
It is obvious you are running scared, but sooner or later everyone will know and you will have to change your alias again and create a new façade.

... but it's a FUTILE effort.
Unfortunately, the KNOWN "trolls" on this board are too ubiquitous.
Until these people MOVE on and get LIVES of their own, this board will remain MOSTLY just a repository for juvenile insults and jabs between these "boys."
In the meantime, they should change the name from "general boards" to "TROLL town."  :(

intentions are praise worthy.  But you see, Lester, there is a certain segment of our patronage, who I will refer to as the "crew," who would find this very difficult.

 
You see, Lester, their posts here on TER discussion boards, pretty much define them.  This is where they search for meaning in their lives.  They have no other outlet.  You may notice they gravitate towards each other, reaching out for approval and validation.

It was appropriately enough named "The Politics and Religion" board of course.

 
Once upon a time what happened on P&R pretty much stayed on P&R, but lately some of the bigger malcontents who aren't happy about being ignored on P&R are bringing their crap here to GD.  It really has become tiresome. I am "sometimes" in the mood to play "whack a troll" but lately the trolls have drowned out any and all attempts at any real conversation.  

 
I like a good trainwreck thread as much as the next guy, but when that is ALL we seem to have on this board thanks to a couple of malcontents who can't stand being ignored, we run the very real risk of keeping the members who would "like" to come back on the sidelines because all the real conversation is getting drowned out due to a couple of board trolls who DEMAND we pay attention to them, just like a couple of bratty little five year old's who are mad about being banished to the kid's table, one of them even writes like a retarded five year old.

Nice try but as you can see where this thread has gone, by way of an insult thread. It only take a few to fuck up a good thing, so I guess some people don't deserve nice things.....Insult thread have become the norm and are now universal on the GD and PR boards.  
What gets me is how one insult thread starting on the PR and carry over to the GD board, or even to a regional  board. Not cool.
