At an average of $1000 per hour and greater for upsell service , plus bar drinks & food at the ranch, one can certainly understand why the patronage has dropped.

The Bunny Ranch and brothels similar to it in pricing and approach are a novelty; an archaic, irrelevant set-up which will ultimately continue to lose to reputable online agencies and independents who charge substantially lower rates for equivalent or superior service.

If a guy is going to spend 1K at the Bunny Ranch I can't imagine that whatever the extra gas costs will really make that big a difference.

The experience there is highly - very highly - over-rated and extremely expensive for what you get.  Upsell, upsell is the game.  And when you don't buy the upsell service things can get a little testy.

What us hobbyists would consider a "so so GFE" is a top dollar event at the higher end brothels.

Now of course, not that I would personally know, this is just hearsay from me.  Forget the fact I drive through that area many times a year.  I've NEVER stopped to try it.  Only what I've read, er uh heard.

Given the current state of the economy, increased LE activity because of/in spite of the Spitzer thang...and from what I have heard from a couple of ladies and on the boards...business has slowed.  This is the first time I ever saw a number put to this.  Since rates at the BR were sky high to begin with, not surprising that their activity has slowed, and are now offering specials...

I didn't go in, but I saw a few in Elko that didn't look real upscale from the street.  Think biker bar.  No, make that SCARY biker bar.

a luxury! Just like anywhere else, those who have will continue as if nothing is wrong.  Look at your own local area, talk to some of the providers...they are feeling it too!  Problem is...when it comes to a choice between filling up your gas tank, and getting laid....well you can't get laid without the gas to get there!  
What I've noticed is....the ladies are raising rates to compensate for lower volume.  When there is an abundant supply, and decreased demand...that isn't a logical economic theory to follow...(only works in the commodities market for oil) If the present situation continues to worsen, CL could take over the world  LOL

The original post made it seem that MLBR is suffering the same slump as the other ranches. The owner was actually commenting on other ranches. He does state that his ranch actually increased revenues by 30% in May.

Also, I wouldn't look at the stimulus check idea to be an act of desperation. Dennis Hof uses publicity stunts and his own media appearences as a form of marketing for his business. He has twice offered free services at this ranches for the military.

I'm only clarifying facts here, since I did happen to read a source article for all this.
