I wish we would quit bashing each other and complaining. This hobby is meant for relaxation and indulgement. If you find yourself with the slightest irritation- move on to another companion.
If you do spoil (whether in real life or in this hobby)- trust that such actions do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Some of us are shy about acting too giddy about trinkets and do our happy dance when you can't see us. 
If any of you gentlemen want to spoil a girl who makes you happy, you have my blessing.

many times the girl ends up taking it for granted or takes the guy for a chump.
I hear 2 or 3 carat diamonds are the standard these days... too expensive for a drunk and broke guy like me to afford.
So I limit my spoiling and wait til the girl is much more committed to me and reciprocates with a rolex / chappard watch, maybe a brand new sports car with a V8 engine.
Guys like to be spoiled too.
That is the sentiment that makes me sad. Girls need to stop that! How do they make you feel like a chump? 
It doesn't have to be diamonds, silly. It really is the thought behind a present that can be touching. Though, really, all of us are fine without and they are not expected at all.
A gift can be a romantic signature of times past. Nevertheless, I totally understand your wanting to save presents for wifey. I also understand your want for women to be more appreciative and for them to spoil you.

and felt like sharing the lovely video I came across.
Naturally, I've come across my share of bad cookies. But I adore classy men and I love being spoiled and I don't want to have to apologize for it.
I'm not quite sure I understand what men want in return, though. Puppies are wonderful at expressing excitement when something is given. Women can be shy and try to express it through kisses or something that may be deemed insufficient. In this light- I suppose gifting may not be such a great idea. I would hate to dampen any relationship with being thought of as ungrateful...
MP67- I know you are not rich. You are a wonderful person and very caring. One doesn't have to bring diamonds. You brought sushi and sweet drinks. The sweet thought behind it was wonderful, and I'll always remember you taking the time to do that and to bring my favorites.
