OnlyFans announced on Wednesday that it is suspending its plan to ban sexually explicit content on the platform. This decision comes after the company received backlash following the news of the ban on August 19. Founder Tim Stokely initially said the change was in response to obstacles from banks. However, OnlyFans now says it has “secured assurances necessary” to support its creator community.

Assurances mean absolutely nothing. It reminds me of the time that I relaxed my deposit policy for a regular and he "assured" me he'd show up and then didn't. Basically, OF is taking their word from others and are expecting the creators to then take OF's word for it despite the whiplash over the last 5 days? Also, "suspended" does not mean that their plans to buck sexually explicit content is wholly cancelled, done, and dusted. At anytime they could change their tune again. I digress.  

 
Either way, I encourage content creators to sign up for other platforms, even if it's to secure your username. In addition, many of these new platforms allow people to follow a model for free before subscribing. A follower isn't the same as a subscriber and isn't guaranteed explicit content, but at least a follower knows where they could potentially find you if OF does this again.

I am sure every ROB who has run off with a client's deposit assured him that SHE would show up and then didn't.

As for OF, who really gives a fuck about anything they do? I know I certainly wouldn't care if they closed up shop forever, and I bet I speak for most of the guys here.

I see both OF and Mongering intersecting to a greater degree at some point - a lot more than they are.  I see some of the providers that I currently follow in various parts of the country already have a OF account and post content. There is a link on their site. They must have made some good money during 2020 when everything was closed down.  

 
Going forward OF can be a great marketing tool that can be either solely used, or used in conjunction with the existing business model (P4P).  A provider can put up videos on there with another dude or a gal, or just solo videos  to showcase her skills, and that can go a lot further than posting just pics.  Or a provider can just decide she doesn't want to meet in person anymore and just drop off P4P scene and go to OF.  

 
If you have a HULU account, there is a Documentary on Only Fans. It's quite entertaining. Some of the content providers (sex workers) are making  money hand over fist.  This one girl showed her account balance from OF and she was making $10,000-15,000 a month.  Why would someone with that kind of following would need to suck 20 dicks a month? She could just blow her bf and make a shitload of money.  

 
It would be definitely interesting to see how it plays out in the long run..  If I were to guess, OF and P4P will somehow manage to coexist in the ecosystem. I believe the business is large enough to accommodate both, but OF will definitely have a part to play in the future of this hobby.

if a provider has an OF, they're usually posting current selfies and teaser vids on Twitter too which would show their current appearance.

I personally don't subscribe to anyone's OF. I'd rather spend my money in person.

And if the provider's website is only their OF, then I don’t even bother looking any further.
