A Few Thoughts on Escort Rankings

I browse several different escort sites and am always intriqued by the rankings that pop up on them. I often wonder about the criteria involved, the clients that provide the information about their individual sessions with escorts, and those that actually compile and disseminate the rankings.

My conclusions are that the entire process is completely subjective and that any rankings, while perhaps bestowing legitimacy on a particular escort and making her feel good (or bad, slighted, belittled, whatever the case may be), are largely to be taken with a grain of salt. One man's trash is another man's treasure. A poor analogy I know, but with a subject as delicate and fraught with pit falls as the services an escort provides(physical, companionship, conversation, empathy, etc.) it seems to tell the story.

Also, one can't rule out that fact that individual agendas and politics play a role in the reviews and rankings that escorts get. Am I guilty of cheerleading for the ladies that I like, you bet I am. All the more reason that I'm writing this. MfSD.

Check out Faye LaRue's two Boston reviews--night and day, about the same gal. The heights, enhancements, everything differs. And I've even been with the gal, and now don't know what to think.

Overall, tho, the general message gets out, if there are several reviews. And I think reviewers are plenty generous, too generous.

I can only speak of experience and my own reviews. I have had some very nice ( tastefully) written reviews by well known and I think reputable people from this board. But I really have to wonder if it was the reviews themselves that has been the primary factor in getting me referrals. I have people who contact me who don't even know what TER or TBD is. They just liked my site, my looks and felt comfortable with my requirements and what I had to offer. Unfortunately, I have found over the last 2 years a sad decline in serious referrals from these discussion boards. I am not saying I don't enjoy reading " industry issues" and at times participating in the conversations, but when I see posts like " ISO info/reviews on so and so" and " Where can I get FS in Long Island area?", I either think it is another wannabe who thinks it's cool to post on escort boards, or worse yet, LE. I think like anything, the internet has become played out and taken advantage of in a fairly quick span of time. On the opposite scale of having good reviews, I have read time and time again of people posting about scam artists and questionable unethical characters ( of course may or may not be true), and yet, these providers still have websites up and have no problem getting appointments ( these guys don't even have to change identities or hide their faces). So I wonder, why have reviews at all? I have always told potential clients that if they are worried about my character, to ask around ( for a character reference only), do a search on sites like TER in the "scam" area and see if my name comes up. Most serious    clients  don't give a &^#% if you BBBJTC. So I guess what I am trying to say is, raving reviews or not, when it comes down to it, people are going to see who they want.
Just my .02$.

After I see someone I compare my review with others. If there is someone else that has a similiar review then I am more inclined to see someone that they have given a good review.  The opposite it true also.

This guide has helped in making a few decisions regarding providers.

I only have one review on TER and thats fine with me. I find that most of the cleints I have seen do not like to review.

And besides, I would hope it was me you were comming to see, not my review.

Please try to remember "Like us for who we are not who someone else says we are."

Only a guy would try to quantify for another guy the relative skills of women in bed. Because only a guy would totally ignore chemistry. We have a history of ignoring subtleties. From crunching on the unobtainable girl in school to missing obvious willingness cues from the ones who actually wanted to jump our bones. I think it totally bizarre that now that it don't matter, I see most of it...

I think escort rankings were developed to let guys brag on killer events and cry on tragic ones. But like a lot of good intentioned ideas, this one was taken over by small minds and used to hurt.

Convince a poor girl that her livelihood depends on her ranking and blam! You have a situation open to various forms of manipulation. In the end, the girls that rave will be at the top and the girls that are more mercenary lose out as good information is more widely available. Good information... There is the key.

I personally very much enjoy TER because they make a huge effort to keep the good information and toss the bad. What had to have started as a geeks hobby (I mean NO disrespect. I use the word geek as in Bill Gates and Steve Wozniac were geeks) has mushroomed into a pain in the ass job.

Whatever happened to "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all," "Play Nice," and "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you?"

Again, if one weeds thru the subjectivity, the politics, the unnecessary disrespect or the exaggerating hobbyist boasting, Review information can be a valuable guide to expending time and money.

Plus, these wonderful women should have some means of accountability in customer-service. I do in my field. It should just be done respectfully, which I honestly find TER accomplishes.

When a provider politely complained about the personal agenda of a recent review, Staff eventually removed review. Saw it on one of the boards.

This has been a hot topic this week in many threads. Myself, I just don't get it. When the TBD rankings first came out, I never quite understood how X escort got Y ranking. So I e-mailed TBD several times about one of LA's finest (ranked at #4 and #11, regional and nationwide, respectively, but many, including The Professor, feel she's #1 in town), and what was it about #s1-3 and #s1-10, what was it that they did better than #4/#11 that got them their higher ranking. I know mackin' ain't easy and it's time consuming, but I'm still waiting for a response several years later.

For other reasons, I have very little good to say about El Perrito Grande (and that should not be read as an endorsement of TER either), but he should clarify exactly how those rankings are derived. There is quite a bit of juicy speculation about the ratings process on TBD.

Maybe in the future we can have something like they have in college football, two polls, the CNN/USA Today 25, voted by the website owners (coaches), and the AP hobbyist's (sportwriter's) poll. There could be even room for a pro draft, Mel Kiper, Jr. type expert ("Rebecca of Sunnybook Stable looks like she's going to go in the top 5. 19yo, legs for miles, natural D's you can bounce a quarter off of, an absolute vice of a moneymaker, and can do BBBJTC in 1:49.5. What a prospect-she does it all!"). Then of course you'd get to see some video of her in action.

Frankly, the whole concept is idiotic to me. Men have a wide range of differing tastes, and there's something for everyone out there, as you can see by the ads.

Yes, it is disgustingly male to rank everything! I don't use TER to rank the girls I want to see, but I do try to read between the lines of a review to get my info. TER is the only reason I can pursue this hobby. For years I looked at the ads in the OC Register and my internal rip-off/LE alarm kept me from partaking. Now I am able to call a provider that has multiple reviews and be assured that I will not get ripped off. This is a YMMV hobby and the reviews DO NOT guarantee that I will get a BBBJ, DFK, etc. They do suggest that I will have an opportunity to connect with a provider that I find attractive and at least get laid!

What I am trying to say is THANKS, TER!!! and keep up the good work.

Gee, I don't think it's disgusting that males attempt to quantify females. Humans, both males and females, try to quantitatively measure everything that's of importance to them. The more important something is, the more they try to measure it. Whether something can be accurately quantified is really a separate question.

The average male may well tell you that he doesn't know much about mathematics. Yet, mention his favorite sport, and you are likely to get a veritable stream of numbers about the most insignificant aspect. Since women are arguably of fundamental importance to men, is it any wonder that we similarly try to assign numbers to them. After all, a numerical assignment is simply a short-hand notation as to whether we want to jump their bones.

A numerical scoring of women is similar to the quest for the unified field theory in physics. Just because we don't have an accurate one yet, doesn't stop us from trying.

I've noticed in San Diego recently the general review average has increased lately as a result of one or two new excellent providers coming on the market and receiving rave reviews (9's and 10s) over even a large number of clients.

The effect of one provider becoming queen of the hill for a few months was that she got all the business she could handle, and then raised her prices when it did not stop.  Her average dropped due to the sheer numbers involved so that she is only in the top five currently but she still has triple the amount of reviews that the others have.

What was interesting was that other new reviewers are not giving higher than normal marks for some of the existing providers.

When I read a SD review posted by an out of town guy, the average numbers tend to be lower like SD's used to be.

IMHO, a 10 for looks and 10 for performance should be considered impossible to achieve or at least extremely rare and require extra extra screening so that we don't falsely shift the scales.
