I hope this doesn't come across a silly question..I would be interested to hear people's opinions providers and hobbyists ref ones thoughts on large web site ads vs small site ads.
Does it leave a prospective client (re small word type ads with no pics) with the impression that the provider is not one worth visiting or not a Classy one.. I guess the reason that Iam curious..since I have been exposed to TER I have come across some very innovative and Classy ads and sites which are wonderful but locally here in Victoria BC there are not as many of those type of ads but a lot of Wonderful Ladies to see nonetheless. I give an example of a Wonderful  Lady that I have seen for years down below. Her ad is a very small word ad at www.bcadult.com  but she is a Very Wonderful and Classy Lady and a Woderful Provider. Now I have hinted to her that a nice site of her own with some pics would do her justice..and she is strongly thinking of it. But I guess I was just wondering if because of the smaller ad how she may be percieved.  Im getting a little long winded and I don't mean to but I just want to let people know that don't sell these ladies short. yes it is thier choice the size of ad they put in .I don't know if I have made any sense ..but I would like to hear from you anyway.your opinions are very valuable, provider and hobbyist alike. Most of us here on TER may not be too familiar with a world such as that. The rules there may be different. But I think most of us, myself to be sure, who enjoy the advantages of the Internet age with pictures and reviews and interactivity would not consider seeing a gal without a pic of some sort.

I don't know if low-class would be the impression of a text-only ad, in fact I don't think it has anything to do with impressions at all, simply the fact that a guy likes to go into a professional date with as much information possible. What the girl looks like is one of those primary bits of information, and when it's available for so many others, there's no point in taking a chance on someone who may seem to be hiding something by not showing a picture.

I know alot of very classy, excellent providers all over the country who do not have websites and at times only advertise with text only ads.

There are a couple of reasons for this. Privacy and Security is the most important. Some ladies would rather not have their faces or bodies posted on the net anywhere. Those of us who do, and I am sure alot of ladies can attest to this, always run the risk of having someone try and use our pictures against us. That happened to me a couple of months ago. Someone sent my website and reviews to my employer, and I was fired. I knew this was a risk I took when I published photos of my face.

The second reason is money. Some websites can run you $300 and up. Plus you have the monthly cost of web hosting and upkeep of the site (new pictures, text). Sure you can get a free site on Yahoo, goecities and the like. But then you put yourself out there to be flamed for pop ups ect. I have been fortunate in as much as I can maintain my own site and have the skills to build a new one at anytime at a very minimal cost. Because alot of ladies don't have an extra $300-500 to plunk down for a site. Alot of advertising sites are expensive also. Most start at $100 a month to post 1 or 2 pictures plus text.


So, no I do not think whether they have pictures on the web or a site makes them more or less classy. It all depends on the lady and how she much she wants herself to be out there.

Given a limited ad budget, frequency of impression is more important than size or even content... the best website does you no good if no one can run across it.

I feel the best strategy here is to have a small website of your own with the critical information:

1. location served
2. rate schedule
3. contact information
4. info or photos which give an idea of what you are physically... big market difference between 19yo thin asian and 38yo bbw black
5. If you don't offer FS its nice to say "No full service" rather than letting a client be disappointed. Obviously if you are FS just don't mention it...

Then use the smallest, cheapest ads possible in every adult webmall and board serving you area... the reason to avoid the pricier ads there is that shoppers WILL click on EVERY ad, and you just need your ads to direct you to your site.

For an ad budget, I usually recommend that high-margin services (escort certainly qualifies) should allocate at least 10% of their gross to marketing (this could include traveling to relevant trade shows, if that kind of thing exists in Canada) so if you are meeting one client per day (Sundays off) you should probably budget at least $500-$700/month to promotional activity. A busy (and durable) escort who sees 3-4 clients/day is probably spending a couple thousand a month to generate business.

One additional comment. I am assuming you are new and you are in a client acquisition stage. After a while you will have regulars and you will be able to downshift into a more "presence" style of promotion so that you just acquire new clients at a rate equal to your loss of regulars... maybe 2-3% of gross.

Oh, and on the issue of photos: certainly some providers do not post photos for privacy reasons, but many surveys on this and other boards have demonstrated that clients will usually not see a provider "blind"... this is critical to bear in mind during your start-up phase. Later, when you are established and getting good reviews and referrals, you can downplay the photos; until then, it is good to give at least a hint at what a client is buying.
