Some like it very soft and slow, others slow and harder.  Some like it fast and furious, some like it fast and not so furious.  Some like all of the above, some like none of the above.  Talk about an enigma wrapped in a puzzle.

But in the end, most, I think from my experience, prefer an impromptu mix of technique, not lingering on one style or movement for an extended period, perhaps until the "end".  I try to gauge my performance by their reactions.  And most great providers, of which I have had the pleasure of many, will be more than happy to help you to help herself.

Just be a sqeaky clean gentleman and approach her "Y" with the same attention and affection you'd like her to approach your "!"

DATY can be the most exciting part of a session.  I know it is for me.

And most of all, practice.  Even when you're alone!  (Just kidding).

Listen to what her body (inner thighs) are telling you

from there it's techinque .... and please don't target just her one area (bud) there are 1000 of nerve endings down there ... explore but listen to what she and her body are telling you and you can't go wrong .... I don't stop until she's had a min. of 5 or 6 O's and don't forget her breasts and nipples while you mouth is engaged ...... Mmmmmmm delicious ........aka "the tongue" hobby safe hobby well hobby all you can be ........

I'd be interested in 'seeing' what it is that they do, and do so well, so I could learn those very things myself and be able to instruct, if needed..
I will say this, though..the one area that I have been so VERY pleasantly surprised (in this Hobby) is how skilled in this area the Gents are!
What a delightful treat! Make me grab and twist those sheets and curl my toes, you do!
I can say that, for me, it's not so much a 'licking' or 'flicking' of the tongue that 'works', but almost as if you're doing DFK - as the mouth is pressed firmly and the tongue movement more like kissing; and sucking.

I only have this to say about DATY... Not enough women know how to enjoy it.

I have always enjoyed the art or going down on a woman. But in the biz it's still considered a "risky" activity so many providers will not consider it even with a barrier. Too bad, it's there loss!
