I'm in LA.  I want to buy a VIP membership, but all the Debit Cards for International Purchase seem to require registration including Name & SSN.  Anyone *KNOW* of a debit card available in LA that works with TER that does NOT require registration.  It looks like Homeland Security wants to track everything coming & going now.

Any other advice appreciated.

Buy Visa or Mastercard, go their web site, register with any name and address use it. Do it all the time, it works.

...doesn't work that easy, Nancy.

If you 'have evidence' it does, be  REAL specific, and accurate. And post it under your handle, so there is trust and SOME level of accountability.

Where did you but it? What date? Who is the provider listed on the card? What's the URL that does'nt require SSN. Etc ETC.

:) or stfu

Prior to submitting reviews, I did try to pay for membership.

I tried the Vanilla brand of MC/Visa and it did not work, even though some people here claimed it did.  Since then others have also reported no luck with w/o SS numbers as well, while a few enjoy leading people down the dead end.

If you find one that does work w/o SS, let us know.

I am sure this is annoying to be questioned for the 3-millionth time, but I'm a little slow.

You're saying that I can go to the Royal Bank of Scotland - Citizens in Los Angeles and buy an Debit Card of some type, then go to the "mygiftcardsite" and register it and it will work.  How great!

I only wonder where there is such a branch, thay seem to be only in New England.  Maybe I should just fly to Treehouse Park and make a personal deposit.  Come on, either be silent or provide truely useful detailed information, not arrogant BS.

Can anyone post a detailed and useful explanation for us sipletons.  We need a product name, a major retail location, and some advice about the rules regarding registration.  For example, will a bogus SSN be checked?  Is it a VISA, a M/C, a gift card, a debit card?  Where is it sold?  Telling people to to to the the Godthab branch of the Bank of Greenland is not that useful.

It would be nice if our friends at TER would provide some advice.  I have emialed them but they are silent.  If debit cards are a dead end, what type of money orders work?

Thanks to anyone that can provide useful, detailed info.

Picked up a Vanilla Visa Debit Card (not gift card, if that makes a difference), loaded it with cash, and used it to renew my VIP here on the board.  There was no registration with Vanilla (at vanillavisa.com) beforehand, but I did use that site to verify that the cash I loaded was loaded on the card.

When I used the card to pay here, I gave CCBill a fake name and a real world address (not my address, of course); the transaction went through without a problem.

Hope that helps.
