Avoid the sad media and get laid.  Ay!

First of all, I want to thank CelticLass for her link to a very moving slideshow.  This response to Sandra's is not meant to flame her but hopefully will be regarded as an opposing point of view:

....but really my point as was mentioned in a previous thread is that it is accurate that we must fight for peace and for freedom and that perhaps as a law of nature, both of these 'concepts' are not natural states at all but are devices of the creative and critical mind.

I am mildly offended yet understand Sandra's proclamation for today being declared National Orgasm Day.  I feel that that is an inappropriate statement given the solemnity of the occasion.

Today, for me, will be better spent in quiet reflection and in rememberance....

I love History and through no fault of my own, like Chris Matthews, learned almost everything I know from TV or the movies and reflect on the movies Braveheart, Glory, Gettysburg and Saving Private Ryan.

Brave men and innocents died that we may have the priviledge to indulge our personal freedoms, our sexual fantasies and fancies.  I feel that it is 'fitting and proper' that we  pause for at least a day and commemorate the greatness of the moment without attemtping to escape  the 'occasion' by deflecting it with humor and levity for I say that today is something not to be taken lightly.  All one needs to do is witness the deceased families and loved one's faces as their respective name is read during the ceremony.  People are still present to and may never get over what occured on September 11th of last year.

This morning, I woke up watching CNBC as I always do and watched and listened to Mark Haines relive the moment of exactly 365 days ago.  It brought back terrible emotions and I am now still rought with anger and sadness.

I know, as a body, we can and do find fault with everything, even chinese food.... and as previously stated I understand what Sandra is attemtping to bring to this occasion...I forgive her for her trespass (as I interpret it and do this for myself) and wish you all well.

Love & Peace,

Warren

I agree that it's fitting and proper to pause and reflect, and 11 Sept. is a good day to do this.  But in this country there are 2 Federal holidays, Memorial Day and Veteran's Day.  And these have evolved into what are primarily week-end retail sale days.  If this is what happens to 9-11, I for one would be as pissed off as I am about the other 2.
