This will make me unpopular with ladies but: ohh well I suppose

I never participated on TER much before moving to Atlanta and NEVER socialized or dealt with other providers until now so I was very limited on my personal experiences with them. Reading the post below and others, seeing a brand new advertisement for custom add writing, looking at pictures then meeting some of the ladies in person, I'm now of the impression that trickery, deception and grave exaggerations are not only the generally accepted policy but the new normal.

By all means not every or even all ladies do but the shear number of those that follow this model is mind blowing. And yes professionals do, have others writing their résumé, but here you are supposed to express what you offer, same circumstance, very different situation. Clients are not looking at your websites thinking I wonder if this is actually her or her team, they expect to get what they see and read from you.

1. When someone else writes your bio, ads, correspondences no matter how good it is, it's someone else's authorized bio of you. It in no way expresses who you really are but rather how someone else sees how you see yourself. If it is that hard to say something nice and interesting about yourself and ad writer is probably not all the help you need. Just be yourself and let that shine through. Why do you need to pay someone to exaggerate your talents rather than just show them yourself.

2. Photoshopped photos that remove a ton of weight and wrinkles. We all have some body issues I know but damn, when you look 22 in a pic and 42 in real life, or your listed weight is 125 and in person your 175 or your pics are supper model and its all camera angles and trickery. Come on gals, that is a lie, period. Be proud of you and show who you really are, not who you used to or want to be.

3. Reviews, this is the most amazing lie ladies hold sacred. It always humors me when they say I'm top bla bla in bla bla or rated # 1 in bla bla. Well I would be too if I had every review under an 8 removed. If I got VIP just so I could read a reviewers reviews to disqualify him based on what he rated someone else. Where is all that I'm so top rated confidence then? If your a 10 you a ten why are you tailoring reviews? Hiding from perfectly good clients? We all know the truth, I know a lady that offers discounts on next visits to change your review, she is top rated. I know one who will have them removed at 7 or bellow, top rated, I asked why but she stated she didn't deserve that. I was like ummmm yes you did if that's what he wrote. It almost got uncomfortable talking about it, I'm totally opposed to orchestrating reputations, just earn them! Then they become raging maniacs threatening and harassing the reviewer because of the 7. Suck it up with your gut and move into the life of reality where woman are not perfect just really good and proud of who and what they are.

It seems to me that there should be a new category here called Catfish, cuz some of these ladies are a product of creative photography, $100 prepaid bios and custom reviews. The best part is no matter how often they read how we know what they do, they completely stick to their fake realm of existence. YOU ARE NOT REAL and if you became who you really are, you wouldn't be top rated. Such as life, everyone isn't the upper echelon some are really normal, really good people inside and out, but FOR REAL.

1. What if it's written in third person? Also, what if the lady knows the ladies whom she is writing for are very well spoken, but lack possession of writing skills? When I write for people outside of this profession, I actually teach them writing and communication skills, while teaching them the importance of representing themselves through writing.

2. Regarding photos, yes representing what one looks like in person is very important... while also having photos that show you invest in your marketing and business. There should be a balance, however. A little photoshop is ok, but you're right about shaving off a bunch of weight and wrinkles. The best thing to do is be as accurate as possible, while having photos that look professional.

I've said in the past to friends, and would hope I am right, not to change or hide their looks, rather know how to market in such a way that they will attract people who are looking for someone just like them. There is a market for everything and everyone.

3. I had a guy ask for a discount on the second session for a 'good review' when I first started. I told him I was insulted and did not want to see him again because he felt the only way I could get a good review from him would be to give him a discount. WTF? A review immediately popped up from him, probably because he was afraid I would say something about his 'bartering technique'. At the time I didn't know this was something widely practiced. A hobbyist will read the reviews, not just look at scores. I would think ladies would want the guys who don't just look at 8's 9's and 10's. I highly doubt ladies lose business over a couple 7's, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm open for correction!

Though I'm still new at this, this is what I think about these issues at the moment and feel I have a say based on my minimal experience in the profession.

xoxo

We agree on most but this statement below. Writing in third person is still your writing, weird but still you. If she is well spoken but lacks writing skills, easy fix, speak your mind and write it down. I don't think hiring someone to sound or pretend  like you or make you sound spectacular is a fair representative of yourself. If you can't write say on your site, in a short concise statement, I'm an excellent orator but horrible with the pen, come see me and you be the judge. I just don't agree with any sort of catfishing or trickery, sorry but people pay for a fantasy not a lie.

only applies to who take bio and reviews seriously. I have always thought the reviews are written by frustrated porn script writers. Oops, porn doesn’t have scripts

I wrote my own website and told my designer exactly what colors and photos to use, and I have never once let another person take photos of me unless it was my camera. Sorry, but I don't need some hooktard trying to rebrand me. I think I have made "Bitch" a selling point. The day I have to pay some person who can't even get her own business to increase mine, will be the day I retire.

Welcome to the world of hooktards, Joy. Sorry it aint so pretty. What's worse is when you let some of these washed up, high school drop outs into your real life...look out! Just don't. There is a reason I don't go to meet and greets or play tea party on my off time. I really don't need any more friends lol.

And don't worry about what the other ladies are doing, or what they are not doing

Great advice, have you ever considered using it yourself?
