Problem reports and reviews.
I don't enjoy being a cheap ass, but 30 bucks feeds my horses for a day.

I just pay with credit card. I think it's a cool service and don't mind paying for it.

Taking a quick survey:  How do you get your TER membership?

- Basic or VIP?
- Paid or by writing reviews/problem reports?
- Annually?  Quarterly?
- Credit Card, TrustCash, Other?

Depending on how often I Hobby, I get VIP by writing reviews. But I have submitted a few problem reports to keep TER as up to date as possible.

Obviously, I maintain my VIP membership by credit card when I'm not hobbying and writing reviews. The basic membership does nothing for me. I like to read reviews and have access to all that TER has to offer. VIP membership is so worth the 30 bucks. When I do buy the VIP, I do it one month at a time.

I'm not a cheap ass, 30 bucks doesn't phase me LOL.

Credit card, etc?  Any concerns or issues with privacy using a credit card?  Someone finding out whom you didn't want to?

I recently renewed my membership with TrustCash.  It's really easy, and no personal information is submitted to TrustCash or the bank at which you make payment.  The only requirement is an email address (I have a dedicated hobby email).  My TER account was updated within three hours of making the payment at a local bank.

When you use TrustCash, can you use the ATM? Or do you need to go to the teller?

Paid with CC, never had a problem (no SO to worry about).  I always got annual membership, it's the best deal.   Wrote reviews to extend it, and filed problem reports when I found things to report.  IMHO, basic membership now is pretty worthless for researching providers, esp since they hid the ratings and donations for VIP only.  If all you want to do is lurk and post msgs, I suppose basic membership would be sufficient

I think if you knew how to write down the various account numbers in the correct places on the correct forms, you might be able to use an ATM.  But, the risk is that you can only pay by cash.  So, if you screw up something, the bank has no way to contact you to come and get your money back.  An added difficulty is that the TrustCash transaction involves coins and most ATMs these days either don't take coins or don't have deposit envelopes.

When I paid my yearly via TrustCash, my cover story with the very nice bank teller was that I had just bought a guitar amp from eBay and this is the payment method the seller uses.

I have only done it at the bank.  There is no reference on the deposit to TER, and no identification is required at the bank.  I use a bank where nobody knows me.
