I did a search for info on scams and sure enough - there is a specific scam where a "woman" establishes a long-distance internet relationship with an unsuspecting male. He gets reeled in to helping her out of jam in a foreign country by wiring money to get her out of jail or a kidnapping plot. After reading that I canceled the account.
