Obviously you don't live in Dallas (or haven't for long). North Texas has some serious winters ("nuthin' between them and the North Pole but a barbed wire fence... and two strands are down..."). I walked across a frozen river once as a kid, woke up to find 11" of snow had fallen overnight another time. Never saw anything like that when I lived in Virginia. On the other hand, I wouldn't care to spend February in Minneapolis...    >: >

I have lived in Dallas all my life and I don't recall any 11" snow falls. I do recall one white Christmas when I was a boy.

I know we have had a few freezes hard enough and long enough to allow you to walk across the ice on a river but those are few and far between.
