New non-smoker... and review rebuttals

Maybe this is the wrong board for this question. If so, please forgive me.

I have recently quit smoking (it's been just over a month, yay!)... and I'm wondering how to change my TER profile to reflect that. Worse, I have a new review that mentions that I'm a smoker -- which I'm not, now.

I'm a member of another board that allows providers to respond to reviews -- one simple response, not a long, dragged-out thread. A rebuttal, if you will. Am I the only one who thinks such a thing would be a good idea here?

The funny part is, that the majority of the rebuttals to bad reviews that I read actually make the provider look worse, if that's possible. I guess the rebuttal gives the woman an opportunity to show her true colors.

But I do think in some instances it really is valid... as in my case, wishing to mention that I no longer smoke. In other cases, I've seen gents attribute skills to the ladies that they do not possess, and are gently corrected. That sort of thing.

I imagine it would also be useful in the case of false reviews, etc.

Just some thoughts. Ideas, anyone?

those who care, now know...... at least thats the case in my world.........

and for the record I think providers have every right to respond to the reviews.  I would welcome that ability

On having formerly nicotine-stained fingers, but never a stain on your rep. my dear. I suspect that the reviewer was not through in his observations and that since you quit, almost no one will care that you were ever a smoker in time. I say the less you highlight what some might call a perceived negative the better. I know a couple of guys that think the world of you.

kudos for quitting smoking!! Three cheers for you!
I recently had a review where I got a 7 for appearance. I really don't have an ego problem...I promise!!! But when I asked the gentleman (in of course a flirtatious and shocked manner) why, he said because it was suspicious for a provider to have constant numerical ratings.
I'm not upset about the lower rating, but I recieved that number because he is some sort of professional hobbyist who writes his own rules.
In this case, he blatently told me he was not honest but wanted people to see mixed reviews of me.
I find this strange. But since he was a wonderful gentleman, I would see him again despite his warped rating rules.

First of all, congratulations! Stay after it because you'll need to eliminate all the trigger impulses and usually one month isn't enough to get them all out of your system.

Rather than write rebuttals, in this case I would suggest updating your website, mentioning that you are now smoke-free.

The other issue is whether you will still allow men to smoke aroung you or if you would discourage that. If you don't want the guy smoking during your sessions, mention it somewhere on your site. If the guy smoking doesn't bother you, then I probably wouldn't even bring it up.

Even as a non-smoker, I wouldn't care if the provider smoked provided she didn't smell like an ashtray while she was with me and she didn't smoke while I'm around her.

A lot of smokers, though, have no idea how badly they smell and how their hair, clothes, drapes, etc. smell like cigarettes until they quit smoking. *Their* nostrils have become used to the odor and their brian just ignores it but once the scent becomes rare for them again, many marvel at just how pungent and strong tobacco odors can be.

Personally, my interest peaks when I read on a website where a provider mentions she is drug-free, a non-smoker, keeps in shape, etc. It tells me she takes care of her body and is serious about staying in good health. Since health risks are an occupational hazard, it is good when s provider points out that she cares about being healthy. It increases my confidence in them as a sex partner.

I checked your profile, and you are now listed as a non-smoker.

However, as the talltexan commented 30 days is not a long time to call oneself a non-smoker. Often they fall off the wagaon and go back.

I hope you do not. Hang in there and resist the temptations and triggers.

Now, if you are truly comfortable about never returning to smokes, email admin@TER and ask them to make a change to your profile page. It is no different than a provider changing from formerly CBJ to BBBJ (my personal fav by the way), or now she offers something new like massages.

You are not arguing or disputing reviews, you are just making changes to the menu. Don't forget many hobbyist (and they don't come on here) just use the search features and seek ONLY non-smoker, so in that respect it does make a difference. Just a different slant.

Say, "I quit!"  Most hobbyists will check your site thoroughly before calling.

Congrats for quitting! I hope you don't have a relapse.  Anyway have you noticed a dramatic improvement to your health yet?

I did not look at her profile before giving the advise above that I wrote. Or, maybe she contacted admin. already and did what I suggested.

At any rate congratulations Bev and keep it up (no pun intended)

and while I will meet with a gal who does, she really has to be special to me - for me to see her is she smokes....  but there are exceptions.  yea, I think that if you no longer smoke, TER should permit you to make that change... it could affect your business.... or at least that is how I see it!  Hope this helps.
