Yes. I use Tracfone. Just go to Walmart and buy one. Then fill it up with cash every time you need to refill.
I just checked on Walmart website, and the basic one is for $29.99. I keep mine home and is always turned off, except when I am expecting a call or a text back. Some guys, who are married, keep theirs in the car or at their desks at work. You should do whatever suits you.
Good luck..
I've been thinking about getting a hobby phone... even though having 2 is suspect, one can be well hidden ![]()
Do you guys use a hobby phone? or just your regular cell? What is a cheap, bare minimum hobby phone I can get? Something that just gets the job done!
thanks!

And a simple search of the board (or the newbie board) would have answered.
Good decision. So much safer & dont even bother with a fancy one. Get a cheap p.o.s. You can get a cheap tracfone at Walmart for 10-20 bucks. Happy Hobbying!
I got a decent Motorola flip phone for just $19 in store, paid cash & used a bogus address & did not link to my email. I buy 90 day cards for 19 with cash... I never use all the minutes. I keep it shut off & stashed except when I'm planning an event or on enroute. I have a good hiding spot. The hardest thing... is to charge it when I'm alone, but it charges pretty quick.
Some people use code names for the address book items.
I prefer to delete all calls as I prepare to leave her. Worst case would to get intercepted while going to meet her... who ever only gets ONE number, not them all. I look up the numbers (must have intenet access) when plannng a meeting. Not always convenient but I figure the security is worth it.
My every day phone & Trac Fone both fit in the same carrier & I just exchange when going to a meeting.
Easier to dispose of...and there's always a couple of cans around.
Do a search (on the Newbie board is even better) and you'll read more threads and posts on this than you can believe.
Oh...and whatever you're comfortable with. Some do...some don't. There is NO correct answer for all.
What a pathetic excuse for a poster.
And I still doubt that TER will flip this assholes alias.
But then those of simple minds have to lay low...and post nonsense that a first grader might do.
Come on lipsoff...be a man, or a woman. Add something of value...and show that you at least achieved a GED!

Buy in a store well away from your home; cameras will be recording you buying them (as they are for any transaction).
Pay cash of course, for the phone and any future minute cards or else either can be linked to you.
The phone may ask you to register on a website, skip that step and do all registration strictly on phone.
If possible, only use the phone when away from your house or workplace. Location can be found from cell records.
When not in use, do not just turn off but remove the battery.
You may want to consider spending a little more for a phone that has a full keyboard to make it easier to text.
You might think about using something like the BurnPhone service for the iPhone, but it's pretty easy for LE to get records from them leading back to your real phone.
I don't have a cell phone. Just never got one, have always managed to live life without it, and my main need for one is for occasional hobbying. I make my arrangements through e-mail. Those providers who know me understand and, if possible, give me their location through e-mail. Some, if staying at a place where key card is necessary for elevator, meet me in the lobby at a prearranged time, obviating the need for a last-minute call to learn room number.
If necessary, I use a pay phone. At one recent meeting where a last-minute call was necessary to learn room number, I arrived early and learned that the hotel had had all the pay phones removed. So I had to go to a nearby mall where it required some searching and odd reactions from those of whom I inquired (especially young store employees), but I finally found one in an alcove along a passageway. It now was late, but the lady understood, gave me the location, and a good session still followed. The problem on that occasion was an exception. It usually works out smoother than that.
NO, pay phones are few & far between. I you can afford to play you can afford a hobby phone! I replaced my hobby phone after 3 years... the new one charges much quicker & holds a charge longer, so was a good deal. But even if I bought a new one each year the cost would only be 100 clams.
On a lot of my first meetings, the lady stays on the line to guide me in... worth every penny it costs. At least to me.
from us as well. Have you any idea how easy it is to find out your real name and address from a phone you have registered in your name...cell phone included? About 2 minutes. Guys who bargain shop and BP hunt, especially need to have one or they might just find their info. all over the net when they piss off the wrong provider who has nothing to lose. At the very least, use google voice. People giving their real life phone numbers to random strangers are none of which I would ever want to associate with..shows how careless they really are.
I mean honestly, what could you really do with the information? Call my wife? Call my boss?
Truth be told, I am no more worried about what a pissed off hooker is going to do with my name and number than I am the guy who cleans my pool.
Money buys you discretion my man. Remember that shit! ![]()
There is nothing that a hooker could do with my real name and number to me that any non sex provider could not do as well.
I am completely "blackmail proof" where it comes to my whore mongering proclivities. Even my mother knows I am currently dating an ex hooker thirty years my junior, and she also knows exactly how we met. I have no boss, I have no wife. I have no friends that either don't already know, or that would think less of me if they did. My lawyer knows, my accountant is a whore monger himself, I honestly can't think of a single person that I would be afraid of them finding out. I am not ashamed of what I do, if I were ashamed of what I do, I'd quit doing it. My life can stand the light of day, but I do realize that most people's can't. It must suck for one to have to live with such a large part of their life in the shadows.
I do have a second phone, but many people in my industry have two phones (one for their Bloomberg functions and one for their regular personal life).
So it's not a weird thing to have two phones at all.
