I've always been more of a fan of college sports. Growing up we had court side seats for University of Michigan basketball games and the energy level was amazing. I'm very biased, I don't follow college football that much, but it was great to see The Wolverines beat Notre Dame at home.

against Michigan State, we always posted directions to Ann Arbor from Columbus.  It was simple:   drive East and when you smell shit, turn left.  Worked every time!

Michigan State is in East Lansing.  The University of Michigan (The Victors) is in Ann Arbor--home of The Big House!

if one drives East from Columbus and then turns left, he will be in Scranton, Pennsylvania, not in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Some education!

I was born in Michigan and lived there until I was six. I did grow up in Cincinnati, however  my parents both went to U of M, so we were always Michigan fans. We had season tickets, so we would drive up for the games on weekends. Even when I lived in Bexley I couldn't bring myself to be a fan of OSU.

...let me offer mine.  Mich, Mich St., Ohio St., Notre Dame and all the other schools in that region are vastly overrated.  They get the sweetest TV deals known to exist, yet year-in, year-out they can't deliver.  Real college football that kicks ass year-in, year-out is played in the SOUTH!  OSU deserves their #1 ranking for now since they throttled Texas, but come January don't count on any team from that region winning the big game.  And by the way, OSU can hardly be proud of their recent nat'l title in light of the fact that their "star", Maurice Clarett is the biggest disgrace to ever suit up in "intercollegiate competition".

No question about the hoops, though.  College hoops rule.  The NBA truly sucks!  I also enjoy watching women's college basketball and the WNBA.  The NBA is unwatchable.  I sure hope no one is actually scratching their heads as to why we can't win in international competition anymore?  Trust me, the "B" in "NBA" doesn't stand for "Basketball" anymore.  As for the college game, get Dukie V and Billy Packer off of the air (although neither of these 2 blowhards are as bad as Bill Walton) and you've made the only real correction that the college game needs right now.

Honestly, I really should get paid for my insights.  How to fix the college game?  Done.  That was a freebie.  How to win the gold in 2008?  Jerry Colangelo had better call me and offer up some serious jack, as well as the title of "Senior Basketball Advisor".  How to fix the NBA?  David Stern, you need to call right away.

it's almost a religion in the State I call home!  My preference for College football is strongly influenced by the University I graduated from, and the fact I have been a fan since I was six years old.  This University's football team has won 12 National Championships, 21 Southeastern Conference Championships (more than any other SEC team) and 31 Bowls (more than any other team in the nation).          
The University and team is of course............The University of Alabama!

Unfortunately, college football has become commercialized to the extent that there isn't much difference anymore. I played major college ball a few decades ago and can honestly say today's game bears no resemblence to days of yore. We were students engaged in an extracirricular activity. College players today are professionals with deferred compensation.
The biggest difference between college and pros is the officiating - College officiating sucks. Even with replay they get it wrong a surprising percentage of the time.

Seriously, I like to watch college games in person, and pro games on TV for some reason.  But it also depends on the sport.  College football rocks but other sports are not as good.

College football is a better game if you are at the stadium, especially here in the south.  Pro football is too much business; that is why it is called the No Fun League.  

For you guys that don't know Ashley, she is all about football, NOT basketball.

Pro is seldom intense until you get to the playoffs.  MOST college games are intense.  

However, my favorite sport is women's college basketball.  Those women play it the way the game is supposed to be played.  Besides, what is sexier than an athletic, intense, sweaty female? :)

Damn  I spent the last several minutes choosing between college gals and more mature gals.  LMAO

My ATF is college basketball, closely followed by pro football, college football. Baseball is always the pros as is golf, and I actually liked the minor leagues for hockey.

Geeze, maybe I watch too much sports.  LOL

GO NINERS, 1st 5 time champ with no losses in any SB. Montana to Rice or Young to Rice.
I love the college atmosphere before and during a game, both football and basketball.
