My ATF and I have discovered female condoms and we have both decided that they are more comfortable and practical for us. However, I have been told that they are difficult to obtain. I have heard that they have been switched to prescription status in the US. For the providers and hobbyists who use them:

How do you obtain them?
Do you need a prescription and insurance?
What are options for someone without health insurance?
Are there any online sites where they can be ordered?

Any advice and feedback will be very helpful.  PMS will be helpful as well.

I always have female condoms. FC2 is my brand. Buy online. Affordable care act if you don’t have insurance. I love female condoms!

.Female condoms cost more, than regular condoms. PP used to give out free condoms years ago. If you have insurance their services are not free. Low income people may qualify for free services. Free condoms vary depending upon location. I get charged, so I prefer home delivery. 📦

but it was about 6 years ago that I got them, so maybe policy has changed.

In any case, I'm sure no one needs a prescription to get them, at least not yet.

…and only women can get a prescription.

Having said that, female condoms can be purchased without a prescription on eBay.

Planned Parenthood no longer gives them away, especially now that they have lost funding because of the guy whose name rhymes with “Chump.”

Yep. Japanese make some great ultra thin condoms with really good heat transference. Just get a size up . I like Sagami.

are hard to get. I bought mine in bulk so I always have them. When ordering directly from the website it does ask about insurance and a prescription.
I know a provider who bought hers off of Ebay,

I'm very lucky to not have to buy FC2s. Being in NYC, it's very common for large reproductive health or LGBTQ+ clinics and nonprofits to make them available right alongside external condoms. In the reception areas of some these institutions, they are readily available.

A few times I even found them placed with mini tubes of lube and other safe sex supplies at a queer barbershop I frequented! I assume as a small business, they were able to distribute FC2s via a nonprofit connection.
