Has anyone else been getting phone calls from people identifying themselves as the FBI? I have received a few over the past year and all I’ve said to him is please don’t try to scam me and I hang up. Any insight on this?

And here's an additional fact point: they've all occurred within 10-days of seeing a particular woman here in the DC area. The first two calls were from spoofed numbers. The last one is actually the number for an FBI field office. This is some weird shit.

Guess what, the FBI and the IRS don't make those sort of calls.  If they are going to arrest you, they come out and do it.  They don't call you and give you a chance to disappear.

I actually did get called by the IRS once, but he was just investigating my taxes, so he just asked some questions.  There were no threats, etc.

I drove through the DC area on a tourist trip a couple years back.  My cellphone started getting lots of random calls until I got out of the DC area.  I suspect either the US or foreign governments use those interceptors like Stingray extensively in the DC area for obvious national interest reasons.

Happened once to me and once to a provider I was seeing regularly.  
Of course I kew it was a scam of some sort. When they told me I would be arrested, I told them to come get me and I had LOTS of guns waiting for them! Never had another call, lol!

IRS scam calls are plentiful. FBI, not so much. When you answered the call, what did *they* say? In my case is was about forced prostitution which got to me a bit.

Don't joke about being contacted by the FBI. When I use to live in Harding's Run in Mays Landing, NJ.  I had a Police Officer pose as a client and take my services. Then he tried to say that he didn't have my money and stepped outside and other cops pull up. They ended up letting me go............ provided I didn't do it again. Yeah right. I'm still doing it but I am in Hotels/Motels.

Wait, wait, wait. You're saying LE actually had un-paid sex with you, and then other LE laying in wait pulled up to arrest you? Are you sure you're remembering this correctly? How did you know the 'client' was LE (other than the fact that he wanted something for nothing)?

It's not or at least it wasn't unheard of for cops in some jurisdictions engaging in sex acts before busting prostitutes. It was a scandal a few years back in Minneapolis. They were forbidden from doing it after that.

And the key to getting away with it since laws were passed many years ago, was that there was no money exchanged. You've got to wonder, then, what was on the arrest warrant, "Having sex with a cop?" The twisted ways low-level criminals are "brought to justice."

The cops will lie and say they never had sex with the hookers.  Who do you think will be believed - a cop or a hooker?

Was an idiot and left a voicemail message asking for availability with a local provider.  They Hispanic guy called using my voice mail as evidence.  I laughed at him the entire time since I know the FBI wouldnt bother calling.  He got angry and hung up.  He used an fbi field office number, but his language was suspect.  This happened in northern Virginia btw.

I've never gotten the FBI call scam, but I think that's probably because I live on the west coast. Out here, it's the Mexican cartel scam.

It can be from  anyone.I  suspects  one provider  who likes to send me pictures . Usually  the next day  I would see a texted link,  Maybe the person think am going to click on it in hopes of seeing some raunchy pic. As said before  it can be from anyone ,but Still I  stoppef seeing her anyway,because of the company  she keeps. Was not going to confront her without proof either.

Regardless of the LE tie-in part of this topic, ... If someone (their phone, that is) gets hacked, malware might use her Contacts list to send out phishing links or other bad stuff to tempt you and other recipients to click away. The hackers don't need to know if she's a hooker or not, just that she was gullible enough to do something to let someone hack her phone.

That's  a good thought and a possibility too. That's  why I didn't  confront her, as she might be innocent .Thanks for insightful input.

There was a service years ago that would allow people to put in the number. Not sure if it’s still available but I seriously doubt it was the FBI that called. And if it was I assure you they would have given you the case number, name of who called, department they called from, and would have called back with a follow up call. Just hang up, if they are the FBI I am sure you would have had a knock on your door soon after.

This is correct. There are actually states where it is still *legal* for a cop to engage in sexual activity with sex workers to obtain "evidence". It is borderline sexual assault. There was a police chief that actually did a news release (I don't remember the state, sorry!) saying they were going to forgo this way of obtaining evidence as he said it was "mentally distressing" to the officers involved. Mmmmm....K.

When I get those calls I tell em to fuck off cause I am FBI, in my book FBI means "Fuckin' Big Italian"
