How come some people ostensibly get every single post they write up on the board, yet others appear to have some kind of limit?  I've written responses to people's posts as well as responses to people's comments on one of the posts I wrote.  Did they appear?  No.

Yet I see some of the same people, over and over again, posting with what appears to be without  any restrictions whatsoever.  Are these people on the Board of Director's here or something?

I would understand if it was a question of content.  If my post was boring, repetitive, inane, etc, then don't post it.  But let's see some fairness.  Some of these repeats, these people who appear to spend every waking moment watching this board, really don't have that much to say.

One more thing, if the Mod is going to limit what gets posted, how about keeping things on message?  I absolutely LOVE IT when someone posts a truly thought provoking or humorous thread and it turns into some kind of Hatfield/McCoy face off between two whackjobs.

on this board, except one which consisted of links to porn sites.

You are moderated, so your posts do not appear on the board instantly.

Please note that one handle per person per thread is allowed. Using multiple aliases in one thread is not allowed (I didn't catch the ones you posted before, so I'm letting them stand).

"Using multiple aliases in one thread is not allowed"

thanks for not allowing that...   i would have never thought of somebody doing that.

it would make it look like multiple people agreed with his comments.

or he could even conduct a flame war against himself...  for our amusement!

Half the traffic there is posted by one moron using more than a dozen different aliases. I guess he thinks he is being clever, but we all know he's just a whack job that all too frequently falls off his meds. lol

For the most part, TER mods are a tollerant lot... only a couple of times did the Bizzare one cross their sensitivities.

Why mod?  Well, some of the instances I've noted have to do with disclosing too much information about someone's real identity.

Blatant racial or hatred speech.

Threatening notes.

Downright harmful advice

for the most part, this is free speech... and I for one am thankful for it.

I do apologize GND.  I wrote that in a moment of frustration.  I shouldn't have submitted it for posting.

As the mod here mentioned, there's no favoritism. You're just moderated, like many others, and like I still am. The posters you seem to be complaining about are not.

Why are some people moderated and some aren't, you might ask? There have been several threads about this on the newbie board within the last week or so, so I would genuinely recommend looking there. To offer a few brief factoids about this:

1. You begin as being moderated when you're new, to make sure you follow all the posting rules.
2. When moderated, your posts get posted when the particular mod of the particular board you're posting on looks at your pending post and approves it. As the disclaimer says (this is the next screen that you see after you click 'post message'), it might take up to a day. Granted, since mods have their own personal lives, I've seen it take longer.
3. To get unmoderated, you have to show a presence on your local board. Participate and contribute to the discussions and show compliance with the rules. Eventually it will happen.
4. If you feel you've been contributing for a while and were overlooked, you can pm the mod to ask them to un-moderate you.

but as everyone does something's that aren't appreciated or just wrong.
I did like the way girlnextdoor let him know she wasn't getting away with anything.
