IMNSHO, it is NOT protocol for a provider to initiate the contact UNLESS there is some prior communication expressing the desire to do so. I have a provider that I reviewed 5 MONTHS ago, that due to her incessant editorial critique of my reviews and her CONSTANT emailing me to set up unwanted appointments, I had my review removed, and I would NEVER see that provider again.

When a provider can honestly tell me that keeping my personal information on a Rolodex or computer hard drive keeps it from falling in the hands of LE when she gets busted. I'll suck my own dick. Those providers sure as hell dont tell US their full names, adresses and places of employment... 'Nuf said.

I know a provider who is taking the initiative to call me instead of waiting for me to call is probably breaking some age old "client-provider" protocol but I really find that I like it.  It shows that she values my business and is willing to take a chance in this slow economy.  And it's real effective when I hear her voice and get an instant erection.  YMMV as I know a lot of guys wouldn't like this with their cell phones on all the time (i.e., provider may call at an inopportune time) but I keep mine off and check messages at my convenience so it works pretty well.  What do you guys think?

It all depends on how  you feel about the situation. In this type of case, all the really matters is how you feel about being called by a provider, who may be offering specials, etc. :)

it's NEVER to solicit a date. HELL, what fun is that?! You guys like to chase and we like to BE chased! LOL
SO, for_the_record if I call, it's not because of any thing like that..
I have called usually when, first of all, they've said I could, and sometimes I've had a 'follow up' piece to a conversation we've had; other times a thank you, etc.
I just genuinely like the people..and wonder how this panned out, or that; how they're doing, and leave QUICK messages.
I often will say - hey, EMAIL anytime and that leaves it open for THEM to just send a note my way, knowing I would welcome it, to just say 'hi' and shoot the 'sh*t' - keep me posted on their news tidbits, and ALSO, because a big percent of my clients are NOT from CA! Keeping in touch (once in a while, and following THEIR lead, usually) helps prevent the "Bob who?"; and it also lets them know I'm interested in THEM, not just seeing them as some 'cash cow'.
The locals might get a call from me to drop them a quick voice mail to let them know of a special; an incall opportunity, etc.
and they KNOW (or should, by now) that it's merely an FYI..buffet style..

It's all in the communication..
Dang, let's make it easy..everything ELSE is hard enough..

Luv ya,
Sedona

as both parties agree.  my ATF has my email and cell number and basically calls me when she feels like it.  The saving grace I suppose is she is 1200 miles away so I can't just drop whatever I'm doing and go have a session.

Whatever you and your provider choose to do is really up to you and I basically treat my cell phone like an answering machine as you do.

I too LOVE it when my ATF calls unexpectedly, I tend to end up at her door within hours after the call.

I have become friends with several providers over the past three years and several of them have my cell # and email.  The one I get the most kick out of calling me is a 20 yo college student who I had the pleasure of meeting her first month in the business last summer.  She was so afraid of almost everything that first time, but such a sexy thing I started seeing her from time to time and she became a true GFE in the true sense of the term with a lot of O's.

Well she is in a college area, charges a low rate and gets a lot of young guys that shall we say are very quick on the draw.  Now I am an older guy and have the handle SlowStart for a good reason.  Well all of a sudden she started calling me and asking me if I had time to get together. The first time it happened I assumed she had a slow week and needed money so I said sure.  When I got there and we started to talk I ask if it had been a slow week and she said no she had been rather busy.  So I asked her why she called and she said she had not gone off for almost two weeks.  What a sweet kid. And she insisted on giving me a deep discount.

To bad I can't review such great providers here on TER.

i too like it when providers call me out of the blue. being a 'singleton' it doesn't trouble me (or them). and it's wholesome "family" fun with the 2-3 girls with whom i do this.

but of course, my ATF *never* calls me!  :-(

she has somehow gotten it into her head that by playing "hard-to-catch" she's going to entrance me even further. but what she doesn't know is that beyond a certain point all that does is INSURE that that the guy will quickly "move on" !  and guess what my darling? I'M a guy and i have near zero patience! ;-)

LOL

(i doubt if she reads this board, but just in case!)

Wasn't a month ago, that the gents on this board was complaining of providers calling them out of the blue????? LOL

I just had a provider call me last week.  She was very sweet and wasn't a hard sell at all.  She is a lovely 21 year old and she says she enjoys my company.  I always treat my ladies like gold (flowers, candles, massage etc.).  I look at it as a date and treat it as such.  I don't mind that she called at all.  She even said to me call if I just want to talk.

ARTISTRY!  ...  sorry, coudln't resist!  LOL

no, i'd really like to think that MY provider gal pals feel genuinely interested in me and not my wallet when they call. it's hard to tell really. it's not like i blame them or hate them for it. it's just that one can never be too sure with women, cuz often they themselves don't know what their motives are! (maybe if i don't attract attention to this post, no one will read what i just said and i won't be pissed on! ;-)

It can be boost to the ego but also a time bomb to the married hobbyist.  I, too have to leave my phone off or on vibrate while at home around the family.

If she calls me I may loose half, so I would only offer half!!!!

I don't like provoders calling me. Period.. Even if I've called you first. If I didn't leave a message, don't call me back. I don't care if my ph# shows up on your caller ID. If you didn't pick up the phone, for any reason, with a client, or screening, or whatever, don't call back.

Of course, I was told that my information goes in the trash as soon as the appt is over.  I once posted a review of a provider which wasn't all that bad, but I had a few personal comments that, because of my preference, kind of turned me off.  I did mention that she provided service equal to her other reviews.

Much to my surprise, my cell phone rang at the office a few weeks later, and when I answered it, it was her, upset about what I had written. She was a bit offensive, actually, and I explained that I write honest reviews, and as I admitted in the review, my mind was elsewhere that day.  But nevertheless, she got favorable remarks.  I let her know that I was a bit surprised to hear from her and it was obvious that she could care less what I thought.  After 15 minutes we said goodbye, and I apologized for her feelings (don't ask me why!).  I thought that was the end of it, but a few days later my review was removed.  I wrote to ter, questioned why it was removed. I did not go into detail about my phone call from her. To their credit, the review was restored, unaltered, which to me is a testament to the integrity of the reviews.

Needless to say, I won't be seeing that provider again, not necessarily because of her call, but she just is not my type.
