from one of our own...

"We don't normally pontificate in public   about the sanctity of marriage and moralize about how the rest of the human race should behave. So, yes, many of us are vulnerable to getting caught because of our hobbying behavior but very few of us will end up in the papers.  That's because we're probably not that prominent and we don't engage in public hypocrisy."

The above is a partial quote by a TER regular (and there were many more by many others expressing similar sentiments) in a recent thread taking joy in the news of Sen. Vitter's "hypocrisy" and the ensuing media coverage of it.

We ALL live in Glass Houses here...no "prominent" politicians got popped in Jacksonville but a lot of regular John Doe's did and there names, mug shots, occupations, etc are plastered all over the news. You don't have to be a hypocritical US Senator to get a lot of negative publicity that can destroy your life.

what a waste of LE resources. More problems for the families and friends of those arrested than any problems that got "solved" by this. Another example why it is worth researching providers and beware of CL trolling...

and everyone of them are wearing green .. I thought jails put ya in  ORANGE ..
Some of the mug shots look like happy men  ...Unlike pix of providers  with the tears running down face and scared to death .
I did not see that this come from CL .
Where is that part in the article ?

Where is this poster from?  It is easy to feel this way when you are from a major metropolis, like NYC where I'm from, where LE has their hands full with homicides, robberies and other dangerous felonies [I'm being generous here, I won't even get into how much time corrupt activity must take up].  Here, AMPs do get shut down, but their clientele never get publicly exposed.  I would think provider busts are more prominent in medium to small cities.

I've not yet heard of a major bust here where hobbyists have their faces and info displayed prominently.  That can produce a sense of false security, but no matter where we are we can never afford to be lax.

"Jacksonville" is mentioned in his post.

Yes he was talking about Jacksonville but how does an incident in Jacksonville translate to NYC or LA?

These cities are larger with more pressing social problems than providing.  Hobbyists in those cities should be careful anyway, but we are not likely to wind up on the news if we're caught.
