Evolution of a provider and a hobbyist?

Here are some sweeping generalizations I feel strongly about. Curious if there is any truth to them:

I feel that most providers start off with high price, limited menu and poor attitude.  With experience they become the so-called "well-reviewed provider".

Regarding hobbyists,  I feel most start off paranoid about law enforcement and STDs. And most have poor experiences seeing providers with no reviews.

I have met several excellent providers who started off at a very low price point, probably on account of some insecurity, and also wanting to get some traction in the biz.   They shortly began to raise their price as business boomed.

I don't recall having any concerns about LE or STDs when I started.   My main concern was money, and later not being caught by the wife.

When I got back into this world it was with the help of TER. So I started out only seeing well-reviewed girls with comparable prices to their peers. And I had very few poor experiences.
So I'm not sure why you had such a different experience or came up with conclusions that seem flat-out wrong to me. I suppose it's possible if you didn't use TER or do any homework.

I was definitely more concerned with LE when I started. I decided that seeing providers with 20 or more reviews was probably the safest way to go. I also quickly learned it was a good way to avoid bad sessions. A provider with 20 + reviews and an average above 8.5 is probably going to deliver a good session. Then I became more discerning and realized I could trust certain reviewers more than others, adding a higher level of comfort that I would get a good session. I also worried more about STD’s initially, but after some experience I realized that my concerns were unfounded. Regular testing certainly alleviates those concerns over time.

I have seen provider pricing go up over time, not down. I can recall more than I handful of cases where I was seeing super hot girls, some early in their porn careers at very low prices. Then 6-12 months later those prices were pushing beyond my upper limits. I would get grandfathered sometimes, but eventually had to move on due to higher pricing.

I know a few girls who are with agencies that have set pricing which is too high, in my opinion. It is not working as they confess that they are not busy. Many have no alternatives. They should go Indy or switch agencies. I would never suggest it to them as I value the agencies and would not interfere with their model.

Most of the rest of us rarely if ever seem to have those problems.

You don't have a lot of posts under this alias, but they all seem to have a common theme. You don't seem to be enjoying yourself a lot in this little hobby of ours, mainly due to your own mistakes. By your own admission, you have very little experience with women except for the $150-300 hookers you see. Perhaps you should expand your horizons a bit, maybe you will have a better time.

To answer your actual OP, NO this has NOT been my experience, not even close. Are you sure this is really the right hobby for you?

"feel strongly" about your completely false conclusions.  It just means you and are not likely to be open to change your mind and therefore start to have better experiences.  Most guys that are habitually unhappy in this hobby are habitually wrong in how they approach it.

As Nick said, I too, started off with providers who had a track record, UNLESS their prices were out of line with what similarly situated ladies were charging.

I have never been worried about STD's because I don't see streetwalkers who don't do screening and I already knew that most ladies in the biz practice safe sex.  As far as LE, I got over that fear about ten minutes into my first session with a provider and never had those concerns again.  My concerns were no where near the average person's threshold for "paranoia."

I started off WAYYY back at $325 for my "70 minute hour" when the going price was around $300/hr. It worked like a charm! I was ready to roll with a great attitude and working to get good reviews. I had a smile and aa hug for the gents I that I met. As my handle says I was "GFE from the get go within my profile "menu". and it's the same now as it was then.

I did away with a one hour meeting  4-5 years ago and haven't looked back.  90 minutes  allows me the time to be at my best and not feel rushed to try and cram as much as possible into 60 minutes.

I an only speak for my self when I say it's been quite a ride and I'm still riding! ;-)

back in 2004:
Most providers start out with an agency.  With experience, those that were capable of running their own business became indi.  A fair number of girls were not capable of handling the business end of things (or did not want the bother) and stayed with the agency.

I started off paranoid of law enforcement until I found TER...then I was off to the races!!!  I hit a few duds on Craigslist but hey, that was early 2000's.  I had good luck based on reading reviews, and sticking with agencies.  Back in 2004 they had a "satisfaction or double your sperm back" guarantee.

On the road to a sexless marriage led me to The Chicken Ranch , outside of Clark County.  Very expensive and lots of rules.

Once divorced I stumbled on P411 and TER.  It was like Christmas Day!   Too good to be true?   Kissing, DATY, BBBJ, CIM.  Holy shit !

I started slow and in the area.  Mostly BBBJ finished with a HJ.  Once I financially recovered from the divorce it was full steam ahead.  On the road and close, 100 miles, from home.   Met some fantastic women along the way.  A couple of porn stars, some folks known to many on these boards.  Experienced a few three sums, not as many as I would like.

It’s been a blast in more ways than one.

I remain aware of the LE component and try not to let my guard down.  I never see a lady with zero reviews and/or not P411 verified UNLESS on reference.  I get checked routinely for STD.  My main health concern these days is COVID.

I fear my company will never return too the level of pre COVID.  My options will be greatly reduced.

So that is the journey.

Long before I considered doing this, an old high school classmate (decades out of high school)  got his name and picture in the paper on a prostitution sting.  He was married, active in the church, etc etc.  I'd also heard about review sites in scandal stories in those City Pages type magazines.  And I always had a hankering to visit a sex worker.   So eventually I explicitly tried to search for a review site and ended up here at TER.   That's when I learned in the forums about how to handle LE, etc.  I read for a few years before I finally booked my first sex worker.  I wasn't worried about anything at all by that point.  So I owe it to TER and the TER minions who gave good advice.

I think your generalization re providers is way off the mark.

First, there a many paths to entry into the business, and most of those paths provide guidance on pricing and what the market will bear.  Strippers, fashion models, porn stars and other entertainers are most often brought along into escorting by friends who escort and give them pricing advice. PV girls who step up to escorting already have some experience and know what to expect. Civies tend to start with agencies that basically set the pricing for them. SBs moving into escorting get advice from Daddies and other SBs.

If anything, it’s more likely a girl will come in to the market underpriced rather than overpriced. Many reviews and board comments discussing grandfathering because prices went up, but I’ve not seen one review where a monger says, “Guys! She DROPPED her prices.

Bottom line, although you may see a new girl show up on the review board with what seems a high price point, there are plenty of other guys  willing to go in at that price point and validate her pricing decision.

Poor Attitude?

No. The safer bet is that girls come into the biz with a Low Comfort Level when it comes to being alone in a room with a stranger and having sex with him. As she gains experience and gives better service, it’s not because her attitude improved, it’s that her comfort level improved.

Limited Menu?

I guess I could give you that one.  As a companion’s with a limited comfort level increases, she may realize she provided a better experience to her date and charge a higher fee for it if she opens up the menu. But this circles back to your pricing contention, and again we see pricing going up, not down.

Finally, your “so called well reviewed provider”

That statement says a lot more about your attitude than it does any companion’s attitude. Why say “so called”? A provider either has a good review history or she doesn’t.

The only time you could apply “so called” to a review history would be in a case where an girl advertises that she’s well reviewed, but you can’t find any reviews on her. If you come to determine that it’s worth making a sweeping generalization about it, it tells me you spend too much time looking for dates on Craigslist and Bedpage.
