On the whole, I prefer to continue hobbying.  I've seen the trailer you mentioned....as I said in my opening statement....

Starz has a new show called "The Girlfriend Experience." When I watched the trailer, I thought to myself, "Why should I watch this simulation, when I get to live it in real life?"

Is the star of "The Girlfriend Experience," and she's taking it all off. ;)  So, I'm definitely watching it.

Realistically, if a woman is a "horny gal" wouldn't she just fuck for free, instead of charging for sex?  

I honestly don't think many, if any women grow up with the desire to be a prostitute!  Not that we don't enjoy what we do...but the risks are great, and unfortunately the career does come with a stigma.  

IMHO, I think most women become prostitutes because of financial issues in their lives, or they feel they can make a large amount of money in a short period of time, and then move on to another career.  Although, I notice, most stick around a lot longer than they initially planned, for whatever reason...but, I definitely don't believe it's because they're "horny." ;)

This is a different story and does not pick up where the movie left off. The movie was BAD. Totally hated it. He got the idea from sitting at a hotel bar with a producer and they spotted an escort. She was clearly an escort, so they said and they started talking about it. Then thy looked into it more ;-) , and came up with the movie The Girlfriend Experience.  

  They felt there was more potential and that it would make a great series. Looks good to me and I will be watching it April 10th when it premieres. The main actress is Riley Keough. She is a a talented actress, up and coming and the granddaughter of Elvis Presly.

I wasn't a huge fan of the film, either, and I have mixed feelings about watching the series.  While I don't think the story they're telling is untrue, I am always hesitant to accept a glamorous treatment of sex work.  I'm grateful for any positive spin on the subject matter, it's not the story I'm most interested in seeing or what I would choose for mainstream media.

I found it fairly true to life.. The girl was overpriced ($2,000 for an evening as far as I could tell).. but they used terms like "dining at the Y" and BBBJ.. There was also some gratuitous escort drama as well..  

I honestly found it intriguing.. The girl started being turned on by the sex.. .. It was fun.. then it became a destructive force when she was outed by a stalker.. and a job..  and a lot of empathy was developed.. Honestly.. some of it was painful.. seeing her relate to men of my age and seeing myself in that role.. hurt a bit as I could see it for what it was.. and is..  

This thread is pretty old now.. so I don't know if anyone will see this.. post.. but one never knows..
