EVERY twitter now requires LOGIN

I've just tried to access a bunch of Provider twitter accounts as well as some civvie twitter accounts. EVERY attempt, even when using a direct link ( www.twitter.com/Her_Twitter_Account_Name ) immediately goes to a twitter login popup where I am asked to log in with Google, Apple, or Username.

Anybody else or everybody else experiencing this? I have ZERO social media accounts and I only access twitter posts using a VPN. Is this another Elon Musk thing? Any workarounds (generic account name, no password?)?

Some providers post their touring schedules on Twitter.  I also have ZERO social media presence which is going to make it harder to follow providers who mainly use Twitter.

a significant number of their potential customers eschew social media (for very good reason) and therefore it would behoove them to make sure that they remain accessible by other less intrusive means.

 
Of course, that is asking for a lot of common sense, which is not in the greatest supply these days.

Elon enacted the drastic policy to shut out chatbot AIs who were scraping Twitter for data. These chatbots were putting huge demands on the servers.

From Elon:

This will be unlocked shortly. Per my earlier post, drastic & immediate action was necessary due to EXTREME levels of data scraping.  

Almost every company doing AI, from startups to some of the biggest corporations on Earth, was scraping vast amounts of data.

It is rather galling to have to bring large numbers of servers online on an emergency basis just to facilitate some AI startup’s outrageous valuation

Several hundred organizations (maybe more) were scraping Twitter data extremely aggressively, to the point where it was affecting the real user experience.  

What should we do to stop that? I’m open to ideas.

Is there really much difference between logging into Twitter and logging into TER? Creating a simple account with zero followers would keep you very anonymous.

Agree. I have a burner twitter account just for following hookers. It’s a nice read every morning looking at the new pics and seeing who’s in or coming to my area.

To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:

- Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day
- Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
- New unverified accounts to 300/day

Seems like Musk is saying this is a temporary action in response to excessive data scraping.

a link in their profile to an ad platform other than twitter that is public access without a login, TER is not going to accept reviews for them.  P411 ran into this and had to set up a page that is available without login for girls who want TER reviews, and twitter will have to do the same.  Of course, the ladies will have to be the ones to complain to twitter, and some of the TER haters that don't like reviews may be just fine with the login requirement.

Bottom line: This is bad for Providers business and not good for clients as it was a source of information.

Sheesh....some of the most vocal about "not having a social media" presence whining about TWTR.
As said, just create a freaking account with a bogus name and a proton email account or whatever......  The know-it-alls on this board who always seem to have the correct answer now crying the blues?   psssshaw

Already engaging in a "non-legal" in all 50 states (except a few NV counties) anyway......better chance of getting robbed by someone coming out of a session or getting hit by a car crossing the street going TO your session....
