Ever Busted by a GPS?

I have not ever seen this discussed here so I thought I would throw it out there see if it has ever happened to anyone.  Has anyone ever been busted by their GPS.? For instance, their SO uses the GPS in the car that you both use and she is looking to go somewhere she has gone recently but does not remember how to get there.  She punches in the "recent destination" feature and all of these completely strange, to her, addresses come up.  She questions you about these strange addresses or worse yet looks up some of the addresses online and finds out they are hotels in you area or different hotels than the one that you stay at when you are out of town.

I know, weird question but I was just wondering.  After I thought of this possibility I immediately deleted all of the previous addresses in the GPS.

And I guess you are just now figuring that out!

I just use my smart phone GPS...  impossible for the girlfriend to bypass the phone security

Who knew that it was this hard to be a hobbyist?!?!

I did not know the GPS saved addresses until one day I was driving with my pre-teen daughter and let her work the GPS.  She checked the "recent destinations" and asked, "Daddy, what's this address?"  It was the home address of an escort I had seen the week before.  Yikes.

I calmly asked if she could delete it and she did.  Good thing the wife did not find it as it was not so far from where we live.  Can imagine her ringing the doorbell and the escort answering.  Yikes.  No way to lie out of this situation.

If I enter an address, it's a coffee shop or resturant that happens to be near a hotel.   I generally delete those outside my normal travel area.  Don't leave tracks!  It is totally possible for this to trigger suspicion...  it is not just one thing but the cumulative effect of several suspicions.
I've not head of a guy busted by their EZ Pass but I have heard of it ending up as ammo in a divorce case.
Never use your CC someplace you are not supposed to be.  (I make sure to gas up & purchase refreshments I'm taking locally before heading out.)

You can't be too careful.

are going to get busted. If you are stupid and careless, and do not know the features and functions of modern gadgets; do not use them.

You can ask all you want on all the boards and social networks on planet earth, there is absolutely noc cure for sheer stupidity and ignorance in using modern gadgets.

Sometimes, I wonder; how much pussy whipped are you and how long of leash you SO's have guys on? Did you all take vow to be on a 6" leash and check in every micro second. No wonder so many fucking people on the road with cell phone glued to their ears.

Holy cow, who pissed in your Post Toasties this morning?

between bieng pissed and being sarcastic? I am never pissed but always sarcastic asshole.

C'mon now, what the fuck are you going to do if people leave trails and ask the board what to do? What are you going to do when people are so pussy whipped and their SO go through all their shit then go and hobby and get caught?

To me these kind of questions and what I should do kind from grown men and women is hilariously dumb.

I grabbed my wife's GPS and snuck out. Looking up the "recent destination" I saw an unfamiliar address. So I punched on it and started to drive. After driving all day, I pull up to a house and sonofabitch, the mailbox said....................mrfisher.

WTF

Or if SO is suspicious, they will take it to someone who can really check it out.  One can NEVER afford to be sloppy.
When I started, I promised myself I'd not do anything "stupid"...  as I read and learned here on TER I'd been only partially careful...  and I'd been lucky!  Luck is not a PLAN!  I needed to step up my game & I have.

Read/bring a paper map, or use mapquest beforehand and delete the destination.  And no EZ Pass either.
Stealth all the way.

Forget the use of electronics - iron sights and carburetors will once again rule the world.

This almost happened to me this past week. My father was visiting, and as he, I, my wife, and the kids were in the car, he went to look up an address on my Nav system. He notices a stored address from a nearby town we had previously lived in, and blurts out "Hey- whats that address back in X, where we used to live?" I couldn't very well tell him its the hotel where I meet my ATF, so I mentioned something about a meeting from a "couple of years ago." The wife didn't seem to notice, but I couldn't relax until a couple of drinks later at dinner. Then I dumped all the old addresses the next day. As has been said on this board many times, luck is not a viable plan for hobby security...

So I was giving Bob, from work, a ride the other day and he started playing with the GPS saying his niece from Des Moines was visiting next week and staying at the Hilton. So I told him to stop fooling around and that everybody knows where the Hilton is but he said that sometimes the GPS finds new routes that he never knew about. And those other addresses? Those are from Bob's other nieces: one was looking at colleges, one is a model, one plays in a band, ... What can I say? Bob has a big family and he's their favorite uncle.

(NOTE: I have not actually tested the above story but I and other people sometimes play around with GPSes just to see if they're better or different. It does not come with any guarantee to save your ass.)
