I have an interesting question for you.

If an attractive woman had a disability such as being in a wheelchair would you see her? Be seen in public with her?

I saw a very attractive woman today at the mall and she was disabled and I'm thinking to myself, I wonder if guys would overlook all her challenges if she was confident, kindhearted and a good lover.

Guys bash us for being BBW, older than 30 and for not being perfect and we can walk and see.

What if I was blind or in a wheelchair? Would you even consider me?

It takes all types of people to make the world go round and I would hate to think that men would discriminate but I can't help but think they would since they are already hard enough on us.

I wouldn't hesitate to see a man who was blind or disabled because I'm thinking maybe it's hard for him to get people to see him and everyone should be treated equally. Usually when people have a weaker sense, they compensate in some way.

My son is a diabetic and he's mensa and in a special program for gifted kids.

Maybe a handicapped woman would be also be gifted in some areas. Would you expect her to charge less? Young women in the "biz" charge more. Older women, generally charge less. But it all depends on what they can command I guess.

I'd be interested in seeing what the guys have to say. And would you still bash her as you do some of the rest of us or would you have MORE compassion?

We're all handicapped in some way, you know.

If her reviews were good, and she was priced in my range, I'd see her - same as any provider.

I saw a provider that wore a hearing aide.  She was deaf from almost birth.  I did not have a problem with it.   She told me about the hearing aid during our exchange of e-mails before we met.  We had an enjoyable time together.  We do not have the same common interests in life so I doubt that we will become “close friends”.  I do care about her and I sent an e-mail at Thanksgiving.

The other issue is:  Shoud a provider and hobbyist become friends or should it be very impersonal.  I have leaned through the school of hard knocks not to fall in love with my ATF.  I do care about the providers I have met.  If we have something in common other than the sport, I would like to become friends – does not mean close friends.

You raise some interesting questions. The kind that challenge the depth of our humanity. You're right  "we are all handicapped in some way"
   To be fair I don't think a wheelchair bound woman should consider being a provider. The same as I don't think a "little person" should be a fireman. Both deserve the respect due any human but physical limitations are just that.."limitations".
If I'm unconcious in a burning building I would hope for a large, fit, muscular fireman to throw me over their shoulder and carry me out. Not a 4' 2" 60lb person struggling to drag me out by my feet. When I'm thinking of a provider I'm thinking of a physical ideal to spend my time with and cash on.
   I have some very affable qualities and am not all that hard on the eyes but my socio-economic place in our society makes me as invisible as a wheelchair bound cripple to many SoCal women. I'm not crying "discrimination" but just pointing out a "fact of life".

Guys, how often has this happened to you? You see an add on eros with pictures of a cute quadriplegic confined to one of those nifty electric wheelchairs with the respiratory controls, a Stephen Hawking special. She looks too good to be true, so when you call to make the appointment you make sure to ask, "Are the pictures real?" They assure you yes. But when you arrive at the incall location, who answers the door? A friggin' PARAplegic in a MANUAL wheelchair! Part of you says just walk away, but you're horny, and, after all, you don't want to be rude. You figure, hey, she's not THAT far off from what I ordered, so you stay. But, of course, you're inevitably disappointed. You wanted a "she-just-laid-there" experience, but the para-girl just can't keep those functional hands off of you, stroking your genitals and running her hands all over your body. Shheesh!! I'm sure many of you fellow hobbyists have been there.

Too often humor comes at someone else's expense. Some of these posts are WAY over the top as attempts at public humiliation of the original poster.

Heather's original question would be much more provocative in the "civilian" or "real world" context. There are some guys on this board who've made it clear they have no intention of going there, ever. However, even in the context of contracting for the services of an escort, many of the more thoughtful gentlemen here have pointed out that in the following matrix, pair number two is HIGHLY preferable:

That might have been a more compassionate answer to her question.

Another might have been to note that what we purchase when we contract for the services of an escort is fantasy time. The boards are replete with warnings from both "hobbyists" and providers that it's extraordinarily dangerous to think of it as anything else. Most likely, when one makes a purchase to fulfill a fantasy, the purchase will be guided by two things: one's budget, and how close one can come to fulfilling that fantasy. Ms. Barron proclaims on her website that she doesn't necessarily subscribe to those immutable barriers, so for her the question may have validity in the "real world relationship" context as well.

One last thing: a few of the most insensitive posts here risk offendiing or hurting many people OTHER than Ms. Barron. Many hobbyists who post here have been quite open about their needs to employ providers because of their own disabilities - which have made THEM undesirable to women either in their self-perceptions or in reality. I apologize to them for the rather tasteless way my "colleagues" have chosen to express their amusement.

As much as I hate to admit it, you make good sense.

Would I date a handicaped woman? Absolutly yes. but if I am paying for it? Well I have to admit, I might hesitate. Now I guess it is possible that she might be a perfect ten in bed. I guess I will just say, I would do my research on TER and go from there. LoL. (Did you like my way out?)

I saw a very cute young lady at the mall this holiday that was blind.  She was sitting by herself in the food court.  You could almost feel her positive energy.  Being a single guy, I wanted to stop and say HI, but I was too shy.  I guess in answer to your question, yes, I might.

As a gentleman with a disability and a former hobbyist I think a lady with a disability would have an extremely hard time in the biz.  We are a very visual and prejudiced society.  I have been turned away both even before being seen and after getting 'comfortable' because the person either didn't like how I described my disability on the phone or how I looked when 'comfortable'.  I can say that I'd like to think it's her loss for not seeing me because she missed out on meeting a nice person.  By the way Heather, NH misses you.

It takes a very compassionate person to deal with such problems.
In order for some folks to understand, they really have to fall into some situation, where they can feel the same way the disadvantaged individual does.

I think that we should all reflect that some of those with disabilities, both hobbiest or providers, may be disabled because thay are War Wounded Vetrans.  From that context I find the disabled jokes and slures very distasteful.

I'm a former Marine paralyzed from the war in Afghanistan. I started using a provider to help me with my esteem. I was self-conscious but determined to get laid so I played the sympathy card until I discovered that most of my providers didn't care about the wheelchair. Most women look beyond the chair once you smile and talk to them. Although, they were also less likely to rush me or petition for more money since I could only do but so much.

All in all, my providers were my angels.

And by the way, a pretty girl in a wheelchair may not be the ideal provider, but I'd pay to have her over some of the sea donkeys I've seen in TER.

I broke my neck in a helo crash in Afghanistan. I'm a thick-skinned, former Marine so the jokes don't bother me; however, I go to the VA hospital every week to help 18-year old quadriplegics injured in combat, cope with paralysis. Remember that the next time you post your jokes, guys.

Im a male with a physical disabiliy, and have been hobbying for over 5 years.  All of the providers that I have met have been wonderful to me.    I HAVE had a lot of difficuly with dating, Im 39 years old and have never had any women be truly interested in me ( and trust me, it's not a lack of effort on my part )   I'm well educated, have a really good job, and make over 50k, and Im a average looking guy...  But all of this does not matter.  Because I have a disability women won't give me a chance.
So, based on my history I would think that a provider with a physical disability would not do very well.
If you are asking me if I would see a disabled provider, ( the first thing that comes to mind is between my limitations and hers what will we be capable of. ( if she is someone in a wheelchair) If she was deaf / blind I WOULD SEE HER.

If you are current not disabled, that's only because you are TAB -- Temporarily Able Bodied.  All of us, because of age or otherwise, will become disabled.

To me, all a provider needs is kindness, understanding,intelligence and the ability to "fuck" in some way.  Without the "fuck" capability, I would still desire to meet her, but perhaps not pay for the experience -- cheap guy that I am.

I have known a couple of women who were confined to a wheelchair, and they were not only beautiful, but very caring, desirable women.  I would have been thrilled to have made love with either of them.  I have never known someone who was blind, but I would definitely feel the same way.  I think if the disability was an "extreme" one, obviously, it would make it unlikely that she could perform sexually with someone who didn't know how to handle her right, so there would be some limitations.  However, if it was a common "disability", and the woman was relatively attractive and a good partner, why not?

Having said that, I think it would be impossible for a woman with anything other than a "minor" disability to be a provider, unless she was "established" beforehand and only worked off referrals. For example, how would a blind woman be sure that the guy was compensating her correctly, or that he didn't have genital herpes? I mean, she could have a screener, but that doesn't seem very realistic.  Also, a woman in a wheelchair would be a "sitting duck" for a guy who wanted to hurt her.

I hate to think like that, but in this business, I would think it would be a necessity to think like that.

Yep. I've seen several attractive women in wheelchairs. yes she was blind from the time she was 5 but the combination of a german shepard named paton and a little device that could tell her if the money was righ....... lol ...... but in all seriousness i still remember some of our many conversations and that in many ways i envied her for she was able to feel smell taste and hear in so many ways that i cannot due to the simple fact that i see also . maybe a few of the hobbiest who do not think they could ever see a handicapped provider should instead before seeing his provider  (this would have to be one new to him) have on a blindfold and set of earplugs so that he is able to realize how much the  other senses come into the whole picture that makes this hobby so enjoyable to all of us.........
take any other handycap.,.. yes that limits the provider or client in that area but at same time opens up hole worlds of possibilities in the rest of the world.
