To me discounting in this playground (Business) is uncouth.
We offer a very special and interesting service that in itself the logistics of cost or demand and supply can not be adequately be justified within normal parameters.
To add the discount element is VERY unappealing to me. And I do realize the gentleman might consider it differently pardon me. I speak with a woman's voice in mind.

Now coming onto the national board and trying to guilt or manipulate women to discount their rates, now THAT I can agree is a bit uncouth, but the act of offering a discount itself I hardly find uncouth.
So please Zoe, why do you consider "discounting" itself to be uncouth?
Without an ounce of animosity, first of all, its not my intention to manipulate or imply guilt.
I assume the ladies that offer discounts do it for good reasons, out of will and maybe one of the reasons is to increase volume or attract new clients. If you asked the same lady and I believe every lady here, they will tell you, at the deepest part of their soul they wish to be compensated for what they think they are worth (asking) without the option of having to lower their prices, whether willingly, of forced by circumstance.
Really, the service involved here or provided is unlike any other service in the conventional market. Therefore, if a lady is asking for 1,000 an hour why wouldn't any of you effortlessly pay the 1,000 and keep her busy rather than stay on the side line (not literally) until she offers a "special". The waiting or taking advantage of the discount is ungentlemanly, to me, hence, uncouth from both sides of the issue.
I must say, If I could lobby about the rates, I think the MINIMUM going rate for this business should be
500/600 to replace the 300/400 Dallas rates as you stated and the girls charging 600-800 to command 1,000 and without discounts allowed whatsoever.
Not all women can do this, it takes a certain level of confidence, a different kind of personality, the service rendered is unique by itself and much is required to have the ability to be sensual, vulnerable and still maintain sanity and love for oneself.
You lovely mighty gentlemen in the likes of GG, should make it worth the ladies while, not to campaign for discounts.

I own a retail business and about 90% of the people that walk in the door ask if anything is on SALE, or "What's your best Price on your Floor model?" Bet that you ladies who REFUSE to talk price do that too when you go shopping, is there a double standard at play here? So get off your High Horse and realize its human nature to look for a deal and don't take it personally. If I did, I'd have a problem on my hands with most every customer.

It's funny, I am a man, I am gentle, you would never see me abusing or even getting "rough" with a woman, but by most definitions I am hardly a gentleman. lol
I also strongly disagree with you about price. The average household makes about $50,000 a year, you are claiming an hour your time is worth an average family's income for an entire week. I call bullshit. Not "all" women can do this, but literally millions do. Some guys looks down on you as whores, others put you on a pedestal as "Goddesses" I do neither. I treat women in this business as just that, "women" no better and no worse than women in any other line of work.
BTW, I am not speaking for myself regarding rates. I can easily afford a grand if I want to, just like I can easily afford to pay six bucks a pound for tomatoes if I wanted to, I just don't want to because just like overpaying for tomatoes, paying triple what something is worth doesn't me feel like a big shot, it makes me feel like a sucker.
Lastly, hooker rates are usually based on the local economy and seem to average around two-three days pay for an "average" working person for an hour of an "average" upscale hookers time. This seems to hold true the world over, not just in the US. In LA, the "average" person makes around $50-60k a year or around $200 per day. The average upscale hooker in LA makes between $400-600 hr. In Texas the wages and the cost of living are lower with the average more like $35-45K a year, with hooker prices in the $300 hr range. Now take a country like Costa Rica as an example. The "average" Tico makes about $800 month, and surprise, surprise the average price for an upscale hooker in Costa Rica is about $100 hr.
I don't make these rules, so please don't shoot the messenger, it is what it is. Personally I want oil to be selling at a "minimum" of $100 bbl, me wanting it to be so doesn't seem to have had much of an effect, now has it? lol

Nothing uncouth about it - it is all about getting that extra business when most of the guys will be available and even law enforcement will be busy
There are many ways to imply a "discount" other than with money. Many providers I know will run periodic "specials" of 90 min at the one hour rate, or slightly more, but less that a pro-rata of the two hour rate. So they are out the time, but not the cash flow. I have been attracted to trying many new providers this way, some of whom became regulars for me.
There are other specials I would respond to as well. For instance, if you offered to throw in a hand-wax detail of my car, timed to be finished by the end of the session, that would be attractive to me, too. See, I'm not suggesting you do the waxing yourself . . . . not of my car, anyway.

And it's none of my business why anyone holds on to strong feelings for or against doing so. Though it did perturb me to read a hobbyist suggesting that they "could" based on his motivations. Plus, regardless of the industry, discounts aren't innovative.

It was the best two hour session I have had in a while. And we both enjoyed every minute of it by not discussing any political topics. The best part is that she did offer a small discount... and why not, because no matter who wins this election, we will ALL be getting proverbially "fucked" in the ass!
Usually when one candidate is good and the other is bad, it ends up in a landslide decision. However when both candidates are equally bad, it's neck-and-neck all the way. This election is definitely the latter.
So in the end, I figure I got fucked twice today... the first being an exilirating experience that I paid for once, and the second we will all be paying for during the next four years
